Just started training for powerlifting, looking to compete in May 2016.. I'm 90kg want to compete at 83kg so need to lose some timber.. but I never thought I would enjoy it so much ! Brilliant Workout.. but some beasts out there! So need to get much stronger!

Had a go of spinning before only 10 minutes but it's hard going . Going to stick with it and try and do a class eventually

Started interval sprints as well . Enjoyed today I think my routine needed a change

Anyone got a good starters routine? Cardio is no problem, but I need a balanced lifting routine. I have got arms like pipe cleaners at the moment.
When I started out just did a really basic 3 sets of 10 per exercise, 2 exercises per muscle group, increasing the weights as I got stronger. Tried to add a couple of kgs a week. Seems to have worked out alright like.

Cycling indoors is always very hard because you overheat incredibly quickly. I have a big ol' floor fan whenever I train indoors, and even that doesn't really keep you cool, but without it training would be very hard indeed. Much better to go outside if you can, even if it's just going up and down your nearest hill a few times.

Break the muscle groups up and do them on different days, leave a day inbetween for good revovery, (ie. back monday, chest wednesday, arms friday, do legs on the alternate days) do 4-5 sets of 10 starting off and go quite light for the first week so you don't go too stiff. After a while you'll soon start to pickup tips and different exercises then you can start more complex routines

cheers mate . I've used the other bikes for months but spinning is different . Harder and looking forward to giving it a proper go .

Good cyclocross race today in N Manchester - last one I did was fast and flat and felt like I didn't ride it hard enough. Today's was more varied, a couple of short sharp climbs that really put the hurt on - finished well down the field but rode it a lot harder.
Good racing, too - was about 5 cm from runninng over a guy's head when he stacked it on a corner right in front of me, broke hard -then got passed by about ten blokes as I was getting up to speed.

Recently started a trampoline fitness class. They reckon you burn 1000 calls in the hour. It's a high intensity workout. My gp advised me not to do any exercise until 12 weeks after having the baby but I started it after 4! I'm also considering jogging. I haven't ran since I was in school so not sure how I'd cope or even if I would manage it! Not sure how I'd even fit it around the kids.

I have zero energy at the minute for the gym . Not been since Saturday up until today . Got here and just went for a sauna and steam . Now I'm in the cafe eating a pack of nuts and a giant cookie . Tempted to have a pint . Lol what a waste of time .

For the last six months I've had no problem doing 2 hours minimum . Now I just can't even manage a poxy half hour effort . Feel drained and have no idea why .
