Does anyone on here take a pre-workout supplement?

I've been taking this stuff recently. It made me feel a bit light headed to begin with but I thought that would pass. Just taken some then and I did 4 sets of deadlifts and had to leave the gym early as I felt really light headed. Just thrown it in the bin so I'm not tempted to take it again.

Cut out meat from my diet for the last two months, still have a bit of fish, I have to say I think the whole protein thing is a bit of a myth, I feel great, training far better than I have for a good few years. Granted I've no interest in getting 'huge' because i'm not a self loathing tit with deep rooted insecurity issues, but on the whole i would say the supplements industry is a load of bull making hay on the vanity of morons
 

Going back home for a month or so, gonna hit up the gym.

First though, gotta go to the doctors to see if my leg is absolutely destroyed or not... so no deadlifts or leg workouts for me basically. Gonna have to be like one of those biffs that does just chest, arms and back ffs...

It's absolutely a myth. I've been vegan for two weeks now and I've seen better results than I did when I used to eat lean, meat-based meals.

I would agree with you.

The only people taking supplements should be body builders and people with medical deficiencies that stop them from absorbing nutrients/vitamins naturally.

I just couldn't cut out meat. I've never even considered it.

I don't aim to get huge, just toned, which I am.
 
Most of the supplement industry is built upon bro science, but not all of it.

I would argue there is a case for many people to be taking some basic supps such as Vitamin D & Magnesium which are quite difficult to get in sufficient from diet or other means. Research has shown that nearly everyone in the UK and similar northern hemisphere countries will be deficient in Vitamin D over large parts of the year for example, which has fairly profound implications for health & wellbeing.

Also many endurance athletes (more so than bodybuilders) heavily deplete their micronutrient reserves with the amount of training they put in, and supplements can help that. If you're running 50 mile-100 miles week training for a marathon, for example, there is a easily a case that you should be supplementing.
