I only have a home gym and thus have no big meaty fella to tell me how to do them properly. They sound very beneficial but I don't want to my back to explode after getting my technique from a YouTube video.
Haha, go on bodybuilding.com, they have videos and slideshows and detailed descriptions of how to do exercises. They're really helpful. Learnt loads of new exercises from there.

Main thing with deadlifts is to keep you back straight. Don't arch it whatever you do!

The easiest way to start deadlines is to start light, 10kg either side and focus on the movement. Same with any compound exercise, proper form is the key not the weight you move. Following something like the stronglifts 5x5 programme is excellent

Did crossfit last night. I'm not ashamed to admit I have little strength in my arms. Have never felt the need for having large biceps and so have never worked on them. The trainer had us doing so many kettlebell lifts, my arms were in agony.

One exercise she had was 30 mins long and was five different things with the kettlebell, including squats, swings (dunno the real name of it), lifting it above head with straight arm, etc. etc... starting off with five sets of each, then 10, then 20, then 40, then 20, then 10, then 5... unreal. I got as far as 40 of each, then the 30 mins was up, thank God. Could feel all energy being sapped out of my arms even after just 5 minutes. Also didn't help that she had us doing that in the second half of the session after we'd ran with the kettlebells and done all sorts of other stuff, ffs! lol
Problem with most Crossfit coaches is that they don't know what they are doing

And think that loading up on a load of exercises is beneficial

Properly structured classes with good coaching is key

Trained by whom?

My point was that a lot of Crossfit coaches are obsessed with the workouts

Whereas it is the technical coaching and strength/olympic movements that should be emphasised for real progress
I get ya. Can't remember by whom, I am not too interested in it apart from the fact it's a good workout and helps me burn calories. I find it difficult to train for the full hour, but am sure it'll improve in time. ;)

Leg day on Monday so naturally now my hamstrings feel more like string cheese than actual hamstrings.

120kg leg press though, happy with that. Saying that, my friend/'coach' did 510kg leg press... I defo don't feel like a weakling after that lol

Nothing spectacular to report this week. Allowed myself a massive pizza on Friday, followed by some beers on Saturday and have just done spinning and will do crossfit tonight, plus an hour football Saturday after the Everton match. Expect I'll be around the 86.5 KG, which I was last week, but no worries because I haven't been massively disciplined this week.
