Great player, happy to be used by the board as protection against legitimate fan protest.

Doesn't mention being part of clueless, dysfunctional board that smeared the fans twice (not safe at game & headlock) on the day of a massive game.

Btw incredible that 18 months later the Comms team responsible for smearing the fans are still there. Say what you want about RS, they would've been gone within days for smearing fans like that.

But I blame most of the ex players for not speaking up (Reid, Osman, Ratcliffe et al).

Only Southall and Stubbs said anything and were completely frozen out. Did he say anything about that?

I was in the 'let bygones be bygones' camp and had come round to the view that we could just all pretend it never happened and move on, given his status as a player. Just quietly bring him back into the games without any fanfare and let time heal any wounds.

This latest media flurry has changed my opinion altogether to be honest...he can gtf unless he's planning to make an apology and explain himself.

Quite clear that quietly coming back to the games isn't part of his plans, he actually wants an olive branch/apology from the fans which he just 100% isn't entitled to. The fans and the club were dragged through the mud under his watch as a board member. If he can't acknowledge and apologise for that, let him go and watch football somewhere else.

Maybe we need to turn the mirror on ourselves and study how we hate so easy?
Do you know, for all the fun and entertainment you give us on this forum, occasionally you come out with a post which is bang on the money.
My greatest football memories all have Sharp in them, absolute star to all of my generation. Him not being involved at the end of the old lady would be one of the saddest things I could think of in my 50+ years as a blue.
I'd hate to be judged on by my family ( and yes, we are a family ) on decisions and thoughts I've made previously, too many bad ones to count tbh.
It's time imo to turn a new leaf and move on.

Great post. And i'm talking as someone who went every game home & away during his peak at the club and idolised Sharp.
If he's going to come out and say that people dont know the truth. Then here is your chance to tell people the "truth".
