I know this is a veiled dig at the fans, but really we don’t demand pretty football at all, we demand football that sometimes gets results and wins. We’ve won 3 games all season which is the reason we want the current manager gone.

Not a dig at the fans, I believe that is a true statement. We would like a nice blend of football, the passing side a la Martinez, but we also like directness, strong tackles, plenty of workrate. Does Potter serve up the latter?

I'm done with Dyche, so I'm beyond the point of worrying if Potter agrees to take the job. I just hope it's part of his thought process of how he would approach the job.

Actually Goat, he was always interim and being sacked for Silva who'd be available that summer due to a clause.

He knew it, he just negotiated a contact that made it worth his while, and provide accountability to the players.

But Silva was always replacing Allardyce no matter what Allardyce did.
Fair enough, I always thought he was "unlucky" to get sacked, he did what was asked and above.

But yes, he was probably just as happy as we were.

I agree Moyse until the end of the season. I think I mentioned it before when discussing Carsley.
I don't understand the point of a manager for six months. Why would we pay Dyche a big chunk to leave 6 months early, to replace him with a manager who is getting a job for 6 months, and therefore will be expecting a big signing on fee and a survival bonus. It makes no sense financially.

Personally, I don't see Moyes interested in a 6 month gig, nor do I see any footballing benefit to us. I can't see what he would do differently to Dyche, given his style of play is very similar.

I think he be a decent manager and we can finally find out if our players can pass a ball.
The whole situation is odd though

Think sacking Allardyce for Silva was/is always the right call. Silva perhaps unlucky we didn't replace Gana and Zouma. I think it was them 2 he lost that really impacted us, anyway.

There was no excuse for that type of football then either - we were always safe under him and we were bottom of the league for every attacking metric. He also seemed to snarl an hate Everton - never come across at all well.

Like Dyche, I think he's did a tremendous job all considered until this season - it's gone stale/it happens to most managers at some point. But I'd still have sacked him for someone like Frank or Mancini in the summer if the option was there. Football isn't fair.

When I mentioned it before I was thinking Moyse to stay on to work with Carsley and eventually move upstairs

I always recall thinking we should have given Silva more time.

When he was sacked, it was the correct decision, but out of them all, I was more willing to give Silva time than the rest.
