Green light for the Super League?

Given what the PL has done to us with the 10pt deduction, if the financial package was better than what we're getting now, would anyone be in favour of joining it?

Just watch the Saudis come in and do a LIV on this. They will fund it and pay top dollar to do so.

It will obviously mean the sporting integrity of it is immediately shot as a number of nobody Saudi clubs will be included in it. Curious co-incidence in recent days that Sky are bigging up that club World Cup baloney in the same place. Getting their foot in early with the power brokers for broadcast rights.

Spot on mate.

Absolutely not.

A super league is environmental suicide, with clubs and plastic fans jetting about for self gratification.

The only reason football is what it us is because of history - in the uk thats how many FA cups, how many Div 1 titles etc. Who gives a damn about a chrome plated plastic cup made up for dome rich fellas to get richer. How can that possibly equate to 140 years of history? How can you go on and compare teams if the competition changes.

Any club that joins this is not interested in its fans, its not interested in continuing the history of a long established world sport. The football club dies the day it joins in with those greedy skunks, and is reborn as a new one, with no history and no achievements, into an entertainment club.

I'd actually morn the loss of great club names .... apart from one, if course.

They may not be able to stop a SL forming, but couldnt Fifa and Uefa just stop players who sign up competing in their own competitions. So in effect, no more Euros or World Cup. Thats massive for players.
Interesting point, if they set up a 20 - 24 league euro thing, with no domestic fixtures, and I hope no domestic cups to play in then fixtures are way way down, so either they get half a seasons worth of games, or, and here it comes, they've a window to go and play somewhere like saudi for instance.

It'd be great if their names were removed from the FA and league cups, those years classed null and void.

Even more amusing, the 6 are the man utd, man city, chelsea, arsenal, spurs (somehow) and the rs. How do newcastle and villa reckon their position stands?
Also, with chelsea and man city currently under investigation for P&S rules, it'd be hilarious if they were both found guilty in absentia cos they'd pished off to a new league thereby leaving Everton as the only side punished ever for alleged rule breaks.

Hilarious. What a mess.

Chelsea Tory boys were dead set against the daydream, as they realised that their club would literally become a global franchise, where ā€˜Chelseaā€™ will be paying ā€˜Real Madridā€™ at a ā€˜home matchā€™ in Bangkok at 3 oā€™clock in the morning. Nobody wants that, especially if it comes at the expense of your domestic league!
This is it really.
It will head towards multiple non-European venues in Hong Kong, Dubai, New York etc.
And no doubt clubs like Al Hilal, Inter Miami and the like will get an invite at some point as well.

This is all about the so called ā€œbigā€ clubs wanting a bigger slice of the financial pie for themselves and ensuring dominance for the foreseeable.

Although, it looks like just the Spanish clubs are really pushing for this. Coincidentally, 2 clubs staring down the financial abyss.

As the bulk of the revenues will come from the Middle East and Asia, watch how quickly they dump the rainbow laces-armbands.

Slysports will remain silent, as they continue to bombard us with the MESSAGE.

Hypocritical scumbags.

Providing we can still play in the Prem - its an interesting concept. Whats to stop clubs like Everton, WHU, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Brighton from opting in and using the revenue created to bypass FFP / even up the playing field against the CL clubs should the scab 6 stay with UEFA ?

Stick two fingers up to UEFA / CL Cabal and the PL all at once. Sadly too many of our fans would be up in arms though.
