Green light for the Super League?

“Our stance has not changed”. Is that the first stance or second stance on it that hasn’t changed?
Difference is that Ratcliffe will have a say now and he is a manc at the end of the day, he isn't going to want to rock the boat the moment he walks in the door imo. I don't think any of the PL clubs will push for this tbh.

The type of sheep fan that we are talking about will go along with whatever the real fans are saying. The real kopites and mancs aren’t going to allow themselves to be replaced by the sheep; the real fans will oppose this nonsense!

Then there’s going to be a wealth of opposition from the majority of the clubs that would have to be part of that three tiered nonsense Euro league.

Why would the likes of Sevilla, Everton, Aston Villa, West Ham etc agree to be part of this BS system? Especially, if it’s going to completely obliterate their domestic leagues that they are also competing in?

There’s way more opposition than support for this nonsense imo.

If they leave the PL that will massively devalue that competition causing Everton a big hole in future income. If you get offered a way to plug that missing chunk and more, you would take it.

I do think the opposition to this failed idea is considerably greater than those that support it.

domestically sure, but one quick look on twitter or the ESPNFC youtube comments should give you an idea of what most foreign fans want, super league is a foreign fans dream... just big clubs, no smaller clubs, it's a plastics heaven.

Sadly foreign fans outnumber English fans by a rather larger majority.

I don’t believe that the Sky Six would swap the PL for this dogs dinner if they were forced to choose between the two.

I think the fans of the Sky Six will object to this as much as everyone else.

I think this proposal is heading the same way as the last one 🚮

I think they know this is probably a non starter but they will use the threat to get a bigger slice of CL pie and/or more guarantee of regular qualification

There's a lot to like about Germany.
The last bastion of true fan culture in the European game. German clubs would dominate Europe if they gave up their fan-led ownership model as the clubs are huge and situated in the richest football economy on the planet. They would be massively attractive to capitalist investors. Here's hoping it stays the way it is.

On the upside, Germans are too used to free TV and have little appetite for Sky's dominance. The TV market is therefore not as lucrative as the UK's right now simply because Germans refuse to have the game monetised in the same way. Rheinland capitalism at its best.

I thought they’d signed deals locking them in to this?

Hopefully mate. I'm just giving a reason why clubs like us, Villa, Wham and Newcastle might jump on the bandwagon if offered the crumbs from the greedy 6 and SL creators. If you don't you're basically relegating your club to being a 4th tier side.

If I were Utd, City and the RS I wouldn't entertain it. They've already got their cartel that gives them huge incomes and a chance of silverware. Why dilute that and give Real, Barcelona, Juventus, et all a chance to keep up/overtake.

Iirc, wasn't the original proposal for the scab 6 as well as Everton and Wet Spam to be in this Super League, or am I going senile?
