Guardian article from an Evertonian on Moyes & the derby

And if the rs do the same on the back of a 3.0 Derby win? what does that say?

Jags has come out and said the defeat has put more pressure on the fa cup game....which is nice.

It would say the derby had zero, zilch, nada, nowt, and no effect on the cup games.

We wont know if Moyes was right or wrong to do what he did until after the Sunderland game, the whole squad will be looking forward to it - not just those who played against the sh*te.

Moyes obviously prioritises Sunderland & if were lifting the FA Cup in may then Tuesday night will be a distant memory

Nonsense! We knew on tuesday that he was wrong. Sunderland has nothing to do with it.

Of course we are all overlooking another potential scenario - that Moyes leaves the team that started against the Shoite in place for the game against S/Land - I know it sounds f-ed up but nothing is beyond Moyes mind - I would almost think he might do it out of spite for the vitriol he has been hearing for the last 2 days. If a manager can be so thoughtless about the impact on the fans of a surrender at analfield, then nothing is beyond belief.

Doubt he's been hearing vitriol. His media apologists are crammed as far up his ring as ever.

Can't see us winning the FA Cup anyway. We will probably have to beat 2 of Spurs, Chelsea and RS. I know we have beaten Spurs and Chelsea already but at Wembley both of those would be a different proposition. Furthermore like others have said, I can't face another derby game this season.

Moyes has come out himself & said he had Sunderland in mind when he picked the team - sunderland had EVERYTHINg to do with it

and in response to "what if the sh*te win after winning the derby" there games more than 24 hours after ours, they wern't the late kick off on Sat & they arent the early kick off this sat.. in saying that though are you saying that moyes was right for what he did & dalglish wrong for prioritsing the derby if they go out & we go through?

i will tell you where im at with moyes , the past is the past . this season he has suported kenwright - strike one , insistant on playing neville in cm - strike 2 , and rolled over at a derby and made the game meaningless - strike 3 (poor results , poor tactics and poor team selection are also in the bag of tools to beat him with)

if he loses to sunderland , then i hold him totally accountable for destroying our season , i will not be able to give him my support and backing if people want him out. i can see and understand why.

this "well who else is there to manage us " is nothing short of scaremongering and blackmail imo.....of course theres other managers who can do just as bad/good a job. if any new manager goes into a derby with 1 % more desire tactical knowledge and thirst to win , then its an improvement and wouldnt be too hard as on tuesday it was all non exsistant.

I agree with what you say there, I feel the main concern from Moyes's strange team choice on Tuesday is the pressure on us against Sunderland now & if we lose i feel he will have lost the support of the fans

There is so much pressure on this game now that didnt need to be there.

Yep.

I also agree with another comment earlier about how we should have played Barkley, Duffy and Gueye.

We had 4 anti-footballers on the pitch and 3 of them were on the right side (Hibbert, Coleman, Straq & Anichebe). We basically had no chance in beating a full-strength and well-up-for-it Liverpool.

But with Barkley, Duffy and Gueye we've got hungry young energy, and with Cahill & Neville we've got old pros who know the score. We should have used them from the off.

Big time

for what its worth here is my 2p worth;

fact; moyse tossed the derby game away as though it was meaningless to all
fact; i personally was there and not a single fan i spoke to there was happy
fact; theres no gaurentee about beating a good s'land side
fact; if sunderland beat us he may well have lost the entire fan base

if we do manage to get to the semis tbh the r/s spuds an cheslski ar most likely to be there as well, you couldnt put a bet on us not drawin the r/s inthe semis its enevitable what kind of a mental edge does it give them???? lets be honest here we were mauled an lucky it wasnt more than 3 on wednesday ,this could be the biggest balls up in efc history here they've put 5 past us this year with out reply ffs

I think alot confuse are fan base with what's on this forum. There's a hell of alot of other evertonians not on forums who whilst were disappointed with the derby are not about to ditch support of the manager because of a derby result and the possibilities of it not have worked by going out the cup too.

Some are making far too much out of this whole thing! I do hope these fans are behind the team fully on sat, even if we start bad or go behind!?!?

And NO...if we start bad it's not moyes fault and the team doesn't deserve getting support!

Rant over !!

Coleman is an anti-footballer now is he ?
