Nominated for Premier player of the month for September. Obviously the judges never saw the games against Huddersfield and West Ham. Reckon he's been chosen because he scored 3 goals in the month which is typical poor journalism IMO.
Anyway, let's hope he can keep up the much better form we saw against Arsenal and Fulham. If he puts in more performances like that nobody on here will be moaning about him.

Of course they pick them based on stats. Whomever picks the candidates can't be expected to watch every 90 minute PL games over the month haha.

Why's that funny?. It doesn't have to be the same person watching every match. Surely for player of the month there should be some sort of points scoring system applied to players in each game. Just saying "he's scored 3 goals, let's stick him in" is lazy.

It's just a hard thing to do properly don't you think? I mean it'll obviously not be one person but it's still hard. I mean imagine if a player scored 6 goals in the month but played horrendously, is it lazy to put him in?

Not at all. They have all sort of info on players on the Premier League web site so obviously they have people already analysing players performances. How hard could it be to include a mark out of 10 for performance.
If somebody did score 6 goals in a month you'd expect it to be reflected in his performance marks.

I don't know because I don't have time to watch 10 games a weekend. I suggest no one else here does either.
I do know that he's played well the last couple of weeks and carries a different type of goal threat than anyone else we have.
It doesn't bother me at all. Its nice to see one of our players up for it
