I'm surprised/disappointed this one is still running. It's clear Swansea don't want to sell. Who can blame them. They have season tickets to sell. He's the fans favourite. They might not have top 5 money, but they do have Sky money, they don't have to sell. And the player has shown no sign of rocking the boat.

Walsh & his team of 100 scouts have had since January to identify targets.

To be fair, its not easy to sign players to catapult us into the top4. This appears to be the point of signing the Icelander.

If you're talking more sell-on value, that is a small club mentality that we have to move on from. We should be buying for now to supplement the youth we already have coming through and don't/won't need the cash anyway.

I guess it's going to take time to adjust to our new found status, unless of course NOTHING HAS CHANGED!

Everton have made a £40million bid for Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and are hopeful of completing a deal this week.

Sigurdsson is not boarding Swansea's flight to the United States today and is heading back to South Wales for talks with chairman Huw Jenkins.

The Iceland international has been one of Ronald Koeman's top targets this summer and Everton have made a club record offer to sign him.

Swansea are yet to accept or refuse the bid but Everton are confident that it will be enough to finally lure the playmaker to Goodison Park.

Simple solution, shop abroad. Value of players in this league is getting out of hand

Koeman isn't here for the long run - wants players who have proven they can do it now, in the Prem.

With so many coming in, getting them to play together is one thing, he'll want them to be used to the league.

It could very well have been. It definitely wouldn't be the first time thats happened in football. Koeman and Walsh must have a role in mind for him and think he can bring something to the team.

Looks very "moneyball" high price great statistics not much sell on value.
A means to an end hoping he's a piece that can get us partying with the very elite then we can offer lower prices with the lure of CL football.
All good if it works out.

I can see us moving to a model closer to how Chelsea operate. Get players in for the first team without being too bothered about resale value, but then developing youth players that can be sold on for a decent profit.
