Poppycock, he tore serie A up last season and was always in with a chance of doing the same in this league.
There was always a chance he'd be Morata who has failed to make much of an impact.

45 mil should buy you a hell lot more than just 'pretty good' and I'd even argue against him being that, he's had next to no standout influence on our side. And let's have it right he's had no say whatsoever in whether we are or aren't sitting on the relegation fence, oumars had much more of a say as has Jordan Kirkland
Morata still has a less than 1 in 3 scoring record which isn't bad going for his first season in this league in a disjointed set up and not always been a starterThere was always a chance he'd be Morata who has failed to make much of an impact.
Well, there are plenty that have said that. You'd have to be pretty blind to think our midfield has been anything but dire. It's mad that even during the last few weeks where we've been pretty drab, not once have I actually been watching us and thought "you know who we miss, Gylfi Sigurdsson".
Only 28? He's reached his peak, we know what he's capable off and it was never and will never be good enough for what we were aspiring toLet's face it, we essentially paid a "relegation tax" on him because Swansea knew they'd be in deep trouble if they let him leave as he was a big contributor to their previous survival, and lo and behold they've been rotten this season and are only just clinging on with their star man missing
His importance to his parent club was what ultimately pushed up his fee, that combined with the ludicrous inflation brought in by the TV money
Transfer fees are going to crash in the next couple of years when the bubble bursts, mark my words
Again, I don't think of him as a 45 Million Pound player, because he isn't, and I don't think it's fair to judge him based on the fee
Salah went for less because he was coming from outside the league and clearly the parent club didn't feel they needed him as much as Swansea needed Gylfi
Siggy hasn't had an amazing season, but none of our team have
The fact my player of the season is Jordan Pickford says it all really. We've been mince and there's been no stability
He's shown me enough to think he can still come good for us. Only 28, so only just reaching his prime. Get a new manager in who actually has a clue and then see how he does would be my suggestion
He's a decent player IMO, and hopefully next season he'll get a chance to show it

The last decent game we played was the BHA game and not surprisingly, Sigurdsson was in there for that one.
I've definitely thought we've missed him, as have others

They'll at least see the majority of their money back, we'd be lucky to get half for sig£60 mil for 11 league goals for the Champions of England.
Nobody could have guaranteed Salah would have the impact he's had. Quite frustrating really. First Torres, then Suarez, and now Salah. They've had plenty off misses as well, but we've managed only one big hit in that same time frame. And a portion of our fans still don't rate Rom haha.
