2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

…of course he could, which is why it’s a huge risk sending him to manager who’s only concern is winning points and not player development. He won’t be allowed to make mistakes, he won’t be training every day with our coaches and international teammates. He’s just turned 18, he lives at home so he has that upheaval too.

It could work out but I’d much prefer him to be looked after at this stage.

Fair do's there are always risks, remember it didn't do Barkley any good but on the other hand I feel it made Coleman and Branthwaite.

Always fun when you see this shout wheeled out because it automatically disqualifies you from ever disagreeing with any decision anyone involved in football makes again.
Lighten up my friend. I've seen people begging for youth team players to be given a chance throughout the last 40 years and vanishingly few have gone on to better things elsewhere. In actual fact the best one, Antony Robinson, I don't recall anyone mentioning at all. Fans are generally clueless about which youth team players are likely to make it. Better to leave it to the experts.

Guy who thinks 'Antony' Robinson is better than Wayne Rooney. At least you were right about being clueless

Yep the old logical fallacy of appealing to experts, total BS. Ignores the fact that another manager/coach could see the same player every day and take the opposite decision.

you only see

zat banging the drum about youth

Dyche was an expert and glued O'Brien's arse to the bench. I get the impression that experts make mistakes or something.
Exactly. See this from Kever10 from years ago, he was certainly ahead of the game and look who the manager was when Robinson was sold. None other than Marco Silva, who clearly recognised the error of his expert ways a few years later.
As mad as it seems, I'm not surprised about Robinson. Always impressed me and looks to be an athlete, great on the ball, I was surprised we didn't think to keep him and develop him. A trend that seems to be growing with us. Some fans think if he's not Peak Maldini at 20 he will never make it, but with him there was a weird overlap of Baines clearly reaching a point were he was past his best and him being a perfect age to come in and get a few minutes. Koeman, Allardyce and Silva decided against it (I'm sure he had a bad injury while Martinez was here so missed the boat there) and as with Williams, Kenny, Dowell and Walsh, Koeman, Allardyce and Silva obviously preferred to air on the side of caution and play... Cuco Martina? Oh Well...

Good look Antonee

Nope you're wrong Kever10 was all over this at the time. He was more clued up than Marco Silva who sold him :pint2:
