Henry Onyekuru

But it buys footballers... and 40 million would allow us to replace him with someone else... we sell players for money and pay for the replacements with money.... and the teams with the most money and most expensive players are usually the better sides.

The 40 million pound offer story is most likely completely fictional but if it was on the table we should take it.
Our problem is we would have to sell him for 400 million to compete with the most expensive teams. That's why we should he looking to build the other way which is through youth development and buying 100 million players before they cost that like Richarlison. I'd rather we lost half of the 40 for Onyekuru than sold him and he turns out brilliant.

It's been a shambles mate yes seriously. We have payed his wages each year, fingers crossed over his work permit each transfer window. Zero information once again from the club and now we are forced to sell.

Hopefully if that fee is correct at least we should make a profit , again though only if its 'true'. But I would have much rather seen the lad on the pitch for Everton potentially scoring goals. But yes the books should look better.
If we had 3 of those shambles a year we would be in the Champions league regularly.

Hmmm that’s not taking into account the fact that if this is true, he’s probably a decent football player, so why would we want to sell him without ever playing him?
Because anything over 30 million is a lot of money for a "decent football player", and we can clearly see his progress by watching all of his matches for the past 2 years. He scored 14 goals in Turkey, not 24.

And if we bring back a player for 1 season, who only has 2 years left on his deal, and has ALREADY talked a lot about wanting to play elsewhere, now we risk getting nothing for him, or barely anything. 1 year of finding out hes not quite good enough means he sits on the bench and now his value plummets.

Are you stoned?

I'm confused at how us losing a 21 year old player to Bayern Munich, regardless of price, can be seen as a good thing. If Bayern are trying to sign him what does that say about his talent? Don't we want players of that caliber? I can't watch £40 million play football.

No but you can watch the players Brands might sign with the 40 million play for Everton.

I'm just so confused. Nothing says we can't take the money we get from selling Onyenkuru and buy more younger players that can either help us or earn us a profit.

This just in - Brands didn't buy Onyenkuru. Silva obviously isn't sold on the guy, nor should he be. He's a good young player. There are a LOT of good young players that fit in Silva's tactics better.

Again, we've got 5 or 6 left sided midfielders. We are going to have to sell a couple.

I swear you'd think Onyenkuru is the second coming of Trevor Steven.

Where did you get Silva is obviously not sold on the guy?

And for that reason I'm out.
Why? Buy low, sell high. Keep the players you think make sense. He's one of 5 or 6 left sided players. We'd have to sell a couple anyways.

I'm dying to know how many here have seen him and think he's better than Bernard, Lookman, or Richy? Or has the potential to be.

His direct quote. He's not sure. If he was, he'd be definitive. He's a good player, but Silva and Brands didn't buy him. I actually don't think he's the best fit tactically. He didn't say he was bad, either, mind you.

Its not like Brands isn't going to buy young players.

I mean, if the rumours are true then I can see why people would want to keep him

Bayern Munich aren't going to splurge 40 Million smackers on someone if they don't think he's got amazing potential are they? And considering how much bigger and more successful a club they are compared to us, maybe we should take their considerations on board?

I think we need to sort out whether there's anything to this story first before making any statements or decisions

If there's fire with the smoke then I'd certainly be wary of casting Henry aside so brazenly
