Henry Onyekuru

I mean, if the rumours are true then I can see why people would want to keep him

Bayern Munich aren't going to splurge 40 Million smackers on someone if they don't think he's got amazing potential are they? And considering how much bigger and more successful a club they are compared to us, maybe we should take their considerations on board?

I think we need to sort out whether there's anything to this story first before making any statements or decisions

If there's fire with the smoke then I'd certainly be wary of casting Henry aside so brazenly
I’m pretty sure Bayern have wasted plenty over the years. How much was the Portuguese kid who they bought after Euro 2016. Who then ended up on loan at Swansea, well I think it was Swansea

They still get more correct than us on the whole though, which is why they're a huge club and we're not

If they are indeed interested in Henry and are willing to pay that much, then it really should be an eye opener for us around the sort of player we have on our hands

I am afraid he will be boss in Munich and we will be devastated. Though, I admit 40 mil is a great job.

Lookman looked good in their league but not so good in ours. Players' worth is different to different clubs depending on where/how they play and what their needs are in terms of the squad.

I'm excited by what I have seen of the guy and would love him to get a chance here, but we have far more pressing squad issues that could be resolved with €40m and we have a few decent players that can fill the same role as him.

Fine totally ignore what I said. And you keep believing Bayern are the masters in the transfer window. Out of interest when was there last champions league? They will make mistakes in the transfer window just like us.

If Onyekuru goes only time will tell if we’ve made the mistake or Bayern have.

Playing devil's advocate as I'd love to see him get game time for us but surely it's obvious why some could see it as a good thing? If he's denied a work permit again the earliest he could play for us is the 2020/21 season and we need funds to improve our squad now. If we could garner a big chunk of the funds through selling one player that's never kicked a ball for us and still might not be able to for another season then it's certainly understandable why we would cash in on him.

Despite the possibility of him turning about to be a genuinely class player that would be a key player for us there's also a possibility that he's far from being a 40 million pound player and isn't cut out for the Premier League. Just because Bayern apparently want him doesn't necessarily mean he's a player that can take us up a level, big teams can sign duds. West Brom were once getting ~30 mil offers for Berahino, ended up selling him for about 10 mil and he didn't score a goal until 3 seasons later after dropping down a division.

I think the transfer rumour is pure fiction but I think I'd rather see what Brands could get us with the 40 million for next season and replacing him with somebody who can play for us now rather than dodging the 40 mil, possibly waiting another season to see if he can get a work permit and then hoping he's up to standard in this league.

40 m would get you Lozano or Neres or Ziytech (sp) with money left over

2013 they last won it, so it's not like it's ancient history (Bloody hell, if it is then what the heck is our FA Cup win in 1995 by comparison?)

A gigantic club, one we should aspire to be like

Every club now and then signs a duffer, but they've signed far less than we have recently, so they're clearly doing better than us, henceforth it's reasonable to consider their interest in Henry as a good barometer as to his overall value. And as Goat said, Sanches has looked much better this season after a rough bedding in period and he was highly rated when they signed him, so again they look to have gotten that one right

They are a fantastically run club, so we should take heed when they look to spend that much on a player we have on our books (If they indeed want to, that's not been confirmed)

That's just common sense

I wasn't expecting to have to justify the transfer policy of one of the most successful clubs in the history of team sport today like, but then again I never could quite get to grips with Thursdays...
I’m fully aware what a big and successful club Bayern Munich are. I was questioning your belief that because they are willing to spend 40mil on Onyekuru, he must be a superstar in waiting and they will be selling him to Barca & Madrid in 3yrs for a £150mil.

They last youngster they spent huge money on has hardly set the world a light. Sanches cost 35mil in 2016. And was awful for Swansea in the prem. by all accounts he’s had a decent season for Bayern this year, but I would imagine they would struggle to get their 35mil back at the moment, even with transfer fees spiralling out of control.

The end of the day it’s just rumours, he could well be paying in our in team next season.

It's a crap league that even Davy Klassen looks ok in mate..

Well if I'd actually said that then you might have a point, but I didn't

I actually said "Bayern Munich aren't going to splurge 40 Million smackers on someone if they don't think he's got amazing potential are they? And considering how much bigger and more successful a club they are compared to us, maybe we should take their considerations on board? "

At no point did I say he was a superstar in waiting or that he would go for 150 million in the future, just that maybe we should consider their interest as a suggestion that Henry could potentially be worth it, as Bayern generally don't tend to sign duffers and they are a very successful club (And often a very shrewd one to boot)

No need to make stuff up is there mate? Play fair like
