Henry Onyekuru

Not entirely buying these rumours, but that said I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't some truth in it. Weren't Bayern pushing hard to buy Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea recently (until his injury) similar age & similar style of play might not just be a coincidence.

If Bayern think he has that level of potential, then they think he could be worth even more in a few years.

That would be quite an endorsement of him by anyone's standards.

If there was any truth in it, I would be inclined to take the money. It can be put to very good use.

This whole myth that Bayern are good purchasers of expensive talent is not based on any shred of reality. Bayern have done a sickeningly good job at building their squad for super cheap, with almost everyone being developed in house or purchased for pennies in the current market. But when they spend more than 25-20 million its like they are just blindfolded throwing darts.

Their last big purchase, Tolisso, cost them 37 million and has played 1600 minutes in the league. While this season was due to an injury, he didnt play that much last season. Gotze was an expensive flop, as was Benatia, Renato Sanches.

For the ones that werent total flops, Douglas Costa they basically broke even on, selling him after 3 seasons, and Thiago and Javi Martinez have been in and out of the lineup for years. Basically not a single one of their high priced purchases has turned out to be THE guy at a position, while 50% have been flops, with the others being mostly squad players getting 1500 minutes a season. Bayern are a top team not because they make great purchases, but because they have financial backing where they can afford to make stupid ones and eat it.

You say that but even some of Bayern's "flops" would comfortably walk into this team (like Thiago, Tolisso, Douglas Costa) so you can't dismiss Onyekuru because of that

not one player you have listed has been a 'flop'

Toliso - played 40 games last season
Gotze - played 114 games and scored 36 goals
Benatia - played for 2 seasons
Sanches - signed as an 18 yr old and has already played 50 games for them
Thiago - lol  played nearly 200 games and won 6 league titles
Javi Martinez - :Blink:lol:Blink: over 200 games and 7 leagues and 1CL title

If anything Costa was the only one you could question... but they made a £10m profit on him

A Bayern boss quoted as saying they’re after Sane so suspect this is all bull.
Not saying there is anything to the Henry rumour but Bayern are losing Robben, Ribery and James Rodriguez this summer so will need to sign more than 1 attacking player. If they are looking at Sane who will cost a fortune then they likely won't be able to spend loads on other attacking options. So a young prospect who won't cost loads would make sense.

Especially given they've already spent £100m on Hernandez and Pavard.

Yes I am. He was very good 2nd half of the season. But we have too many right wingers. We need more competition on the left.
I agree you do need competition but who ever was the competition would have to be around the same level or better than bernard, and I don't think Henry is, but that's just my opinion.

Do we ? Bernard, Richarlison and Lookmans natural positions are on the left wing playing as inside forwards who cut in...

We could do with some left footed players on the wing but the left wing is the the area of the pitch we're most stacked in.
