Has anyone ever noticed that the poorer areas of the country are Labour controlled, apart from the Labour elite areas in London. And has anyone noticed that these poor areas have had Labour in charge when they have been in Government. And has anyone spotted that Labour has been in charge of the areas for half a century or more. And has anyone noticed that they have not done a blind bit of good and merely kept the people down to ensure they vote Labour. So I ask the question, where Labour is in power exactly what have they done apart from giving out social security..........

Well it certainly isn't the current Labour party. I think May is going to seduce most of the voters by being pragmatic and practical and forgoing political dogma.......dare I say it, by doing exactly what Maggie Thatcher did and appealing to the working man and woman..........

There's no way they wanted to oversee the absolute bumming the British are going to get from the EU, so Boris et al stood happily aside to let the daft Grammar School vicars daughter come through, take the flak and then get annihilated by her own backwoodsmen on the Tory back benches.

pete, May is just a convenient patsy the Johnson lot slotted into place to do the heavy lifting on Brexit. There's no way they wanted to be oversee the absolute bumming the British are going to get from the EU, so Boris et al stood happily aside to let the daft Grammar School vicars daughter come through, take the flak and then get annihilated by her own backwoodsmen on the Tory back benches.

She's a very convenient idiot to have in place, that's all.

I think she will make a good PM. I'm a reasonably decent judge of character, and she may well get stitched up, but I think she is made of sterner stuff and may well turn out a good one..........I don't think she will be as harsh as Maggie, but then the country is in a much better place, I think she will do as she says..........But we will see......

The liberals are a complete irrelevance. The Tories aren't surrendering seats to them. They are basically ignoring them as they are irrelevant.

Early brexit gives Teresa 2 bites of the cherry. If it goes well in first half of 2017 and public support is on her side, then she prepares for a 2018 election.

If it goes badly in the short term, she battens down the hatches and rides it out hoping she can turn it around by 2020.

The Atlee Labour Government killed stone dead the type of squalor and disease and ill informed and ill educated lifestyles most people were forced to endure for centuries. It was a mammoth achievement from that party and still, even today, has millions voting tribally for it - such was its monumental legacy.

The Tories? Their legacy is trying to knock all that down..which is why any working class person with an ounce of common sense hates them with a vengeance.

Labour can't be trusted with an economy. That's for sure. We would all be worse off under them.

The tax free Personal Allowance has almost doubled since 2010. They did nothing in 13 years of power to help low paid workers.

Attlee was a true great of British history. To suggest the current labour party in any way compares with a man of his standing is sheer delusion. He'd be embarrassed by 2016 Labour.
