Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

Just noticed on SSN , “FA still considering Holgate’s observations about social media posts made when he was 15 and 16”! Findings are expected next week!
Dear god, it was six years ago, he was a kid! No doubt the kopites who went digging for that stuff on the back of the Firminho stuff will want him banned, and will probably get their wish!

Innocent until proven guilty? Sometimes referred to by the Latin expression ei incumbit probatio qui dicit, non qui negat.

This isn't a court of law.

In people's minds there will always be a suspicion that he is a racist that slipped the net.

He's permanently tarnished now, unable to prove his innocence and with the football authority unwilling to absolve him.

who? Firminho? Haven't seen a bad word been brandished about him anywhere in the media and he's just continued playing as if nothing's happened.

so why have Kick it out decided to comment on the brewster incident, but not the holgate incident? It seems that they're almost identical, but what really raises my eyebrows is their comment:

"Kick It Out believes there are issues with clubs, such as Spartak Moscow, who have been involved in several alleged racist incidents in recent years, receiving little or no discouragement by national and international football authorities in response to allegations of racism and discrimination."

Why are they singling out Spartak when the other club involved have just been involved in a racial allegation, as well as the Tom Adeyemi and Patrice Evra incidents also in the last few years. And then again the sick abuse evra receieved recently, despite being a victim. A Liverpool player was found guilty of racism and yet the club still hasn't moved on, supporting the racist in the process. I'm sorry, but liverpool are the club they should be using as an example of a club with issues.

I replied to a lad on Twitter who was slating Holgate for being a liar, with a screenshot of the quote from the FA saying Holgate felt he was abused and was not making it up. He was a kopite and dismissed it as the FA lying to cover it up and that Holgate was a liar. It got 12 likes and RTs from fellow kopites. I sent him the screenshot about Brewster and he’s said that isn’t the same and called me a bell end. They are proper boss.

Stupid that Kopites are dismissing/abusing Holgate whilst getting up in arms that Brewster's claim was dismissed.

This isn't about which team you support. This is about young lads standing up and reporting what they feel is racial vilification.

You simply cannot defend one and slate the other. Both are doing what they believe is right. Sadly, the verbal and social media attacks on Holgate are half the reason players don't report things, as neanderthals are too simple to understand that regardless of the team you support, racial issues are a problem and need solving; even if a player on your team is the accused.

Always the victim

When I was young watching the inbetweeners faggot was an acceptable word. Not saying it is now but taking in the context of the times. I was brought up like a similar way many of the lads on here that homosexuality was wrong, when you mature you become more tolerant of people. If being homophobic is a crime 90% of lads under 20 are guilty of it. I was brought up similar to Mason, that gays are to be mocked but I grew up like him. We all make mistakes when we're young, can't punish him now.

This is what makes my blood boil, I mean how many other clubs would act like this? Why are all their life views based on the colour of football shirts. Its a weird obsession that clouds any judgement. I don't think any other set of fans would act that way. A lot of blues were saying they hoped firminho hadn't said anything racist, but you just know those weirdos wanted brewster to have received racist abuse and for it to be declared as a guilty verdict. Because then they would have been able to turn it all into this one big event.

This is when there should be tshirts of support, not when their player admitted being a racist.

... I won't hold my breathe.
