Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

Venturebroosefc mentionned last night about different tv angle showed during Fox broadcast confirming that Holgate was right...has anybody else saw this broadcast?

I’m doubtful, Fox broadcast will almost certainly have used the same video feed as every other channel. They certainly won’t have got in their own directors for it.

Plus if an alternate angle was shown it would have been all over the Internet by now.

The FA should have access to other angles though, there will have been multiple cameras following the ruckus which the directors didn’t cut to.

Yes I’ve seen those claims - all rebutted.

All incorrect.

No Blue would ever mock H’boro, we’ve always stood side by side over that and they know it.
Agreed. I've been Analfield countless times over the times and I've never ever seen or heard anything relating to H'Boro from our fans.

Furthermore, I'd personally challenge any of our fans whoever did. I won't pretend that there isn't the usual 'murderers' and 'wall pushing antics'.

Those myself are themselves slightly distasteful and unnecessary in my humble opinion, however I understand why people do regularly use them.

If any ‘blue’ mocked Hillsborough they’d be instantly dealt with by surrounding blues so fast he’d not know what hit him.

While I don’t like ‘murdered’ and ‘victims’ songs, they’re are not nor ever have been about Hillsborough.

They’re about 39 deaths at Heysel (which via the Steau 86 banner, the reds are happy to mock), and the hounding of Evra despite their own player being found guilty of, and admitting, clear racism. Let’s not forget Munich chants eh?

Also, you’ll probably find that the reds falsely accusing blues of this are not scousers but that’s another matter and probably irrelelvant.

I think Liverpool will tell him not to admit and deny everything, they know it will look bad and he will get banned, they don' care about someone being racially abused but do care about the brand

They would be very stupid as they wont know if it was caught anywhere. Its a dangerous ploy plus that could come out in a future book or anything. I know we have a go at them but that would be a serious thing to do.

Suarez denies it - Evra is lying

Suarez still denies it - Evra is still lying, Man U are lying, everyone is against us

Suarez admits he said it just once - well its a term of endearment in Uruguay, they say that to friends and he doesnt know the English custom

Waits for repeat if Firmino is guilty

Thing is Dave, any normal manager I'd agree. But on this occasion I'm glad Allardyce has kept his mouth shut. I always get the impression that every time he opens his mouth he could say something really stupid and embarrssing ( worse than calling Coleman Simon Coleman ).

So for this particular thing, yep, step back old timer and let others deal with it. If Koeman was still manager or Unsworth and so on then yeah I would have wanted them full on kick off mode straight after the match because by then everyone will have known what has been said
I think he'd have been perfect for it, tbh. He's shown a talent for insinuation in the past and he could, if he was of a mind to, have said that "Liverpool is a club that's been through this stuff in the past and I'm sure they'll be doing everything to have a word with their lads and reminding them of that to stop a recurrence of it".

Something like that, just to gain media attention and associate the Holgate situation with a proven case of racial abuse.

It'd have been a perfect defence of Holgate and had them fuming. I dont know why he stepped back from a response like that because he usually doesn't give a flying one about consequences.

Definitely should have mentioned something just to let the world know that we are expecting an outcome

Late to this thread so not sure if it's already been said.

When BBC programme ended and the end credit rolled, they cut to an angle that would have shown what he did or did not say. It just didn't get rolled on long enough.

So it's definitely out there, just nobody has released it into the public!

He should.

Do any of us really think for one second that if one of their players had said they'd been racially abused that Klopp wouldn't have been holding court post match for 30 minutes going through it blow by blow and looking to get Liverpool's way?

Our manager and directors of our club should rise above this kind of thing, not insinuate anything and let the correct authorities deal with it. When the decision has been reached then comment, agree or appeal to it.

Anyone else scared about Holgate pushing Firmino into the stands?

Not in any way similar but at work once I took an extra 10mins on my break (I know) and a supervisor docked me 10mins wage. Anyway that was illegal in her position so we both got pulled into the office and what was a telling off offence ( "don't do that again, get out there" ) became official disciplinary action against me too.

Holgate's push was a yellow card but when this is resolved, I could see him getting a 2-3 match ban for his 'conduct' ESPECIALLY if Firmino is found to be innocent, or more likely, not enough evidence either way.

Obviously this is a minor issue compared to the accusation, but one I hadn't seen brought up.

No, you make sure you fought hard for your player. Klopp spoke about the affair post match to clarify what he thinks the inquiry is about; Allardyce simply saying "I've passed this on to Steve Walsh" is pathetic and not worthy of a leader of a group of players.

If I was an Everton player now I'd be thinking: "He's not backed us here" and it'd irritate and concern me.

Thee's a press conference this week and even if it's before the FA decision he has to reference it and say something to back Holgate up and throw weight at the situation.
