Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

He should.

Do any of us really think for one second that if one of their players had said they'd been racially abused that Klopp wouldn't have been holding court post match for 30 minutes going through it blow by blow and looking to get Liverpool's way?

No, you make sure you fought hard for your player. Klopp spoke about the affair post match to clarify what he thinks the inquiry is about; Allardyce simply saying "I've passed this on to Steve Walsh" is pathetic and not worthy of a leader of a group of players.

If I was an Everton player now I'd be thinking: "He's not backed us here" and it'd irritate and concern me.

Thee's a press conference this week and even if it's before the FA decision he has to reference it and say something to back Holgate up and throw weight at the situation.

Have a bit of class lad and leave your crusade out of this thread. It’s far too serious to be clogged up with your spam

Anyone else scared about Holgate pushing Firmino into the stands?

Not in any way similar but at work once I took an extra 10mins on my break (I know) and a supervisor docked me 10mins wage. Anyway that was illegal in her position so we both got pulled into the office and what was a telling off offence ( "don't do that again, get out there" ) became official disciplinary action against me too.

Holgate's push was a yellow card but when this is resolved, I could see him getting a 2-3 match ban for his 'conduct' ESPECIALLY if Firmino is found to be innocent, or more likely, not enough evidence either way.

Obviously this is a minor issue compared to the accusation, but one I hadn't seen brought up.
Can you imagine them punishing a player adamant he was racially abused and letting his alleged accuser walk away scot free?

Not even the divvies at the FA are that insensitive.

IMO Firmino will be (wrongly) cleared but both he and Holgate will get a couple of matches ban for provoking an altercation.

Ref saw it and has acted on the push as he saw fit, mad that he didn't get a yellow but unless I'm a new act of cowardice the ref claims he hast seen it, there's nothing to be done further on the shove

That's your opinion Dave, to me Klopp just showed his ignorance and lack of knowledge of the incident and in doing so made himself look foolish. Wasn't Klopp backing one of his own academy's players last week for a similar thing ? The last thing Kloppy wants to do is show he has double standards. Allardyce imo was right to keep his mouth shut until he has all the facts / details in front of him. Now please calm down.

He still got his pov over to the media and FA though. That was a manager doing right by his club. Allardyce swerved that responsibility.

Disgree completely. Why would Klopp (or anyone on either bench) have knowledge of the incident at the time. They wouldnt have expected an alledged racisct remark so all would assune the whole melee was over the push. They probably thought he was getting a second opinion form the 4th official

Lets not be like them.

What point? He only said he thought the ref was consulting the 4th official over the push and found out later it was about something else.

Holgate may get punished on the tweets, Andre Grey got a 4 match ban for his.
