What do you think he said or didn't say? Carrot or stick, players generally react to one or the other, yet we got game after game of indifference. Let's face facts we'll start the season with a lot of the same team still here,if he couldn't put a rocket under them now,it doesn't bode well.

What do I think a man who has won multiple league titles, domestic and European cups who knows all about motivation has said to our gutless, unambitious, team of duds? I’m not sure?

I do agree that most of this squad will be here again next season. I do believe this job is going to be a lot bigger for him than he expected. I honestly don’t think he envisioned the team of gutless rats he was going to end up with.

It doesn’t bode well that most of the current crap will be here again next season but what do you do about that? Sack him off and bring in your flavour of the month? He will bring his own players in and eventually the deadwood will be pushed out, for those who are expectin instant success I suggest you stick to FIFA or football manager. It doesn’t happen like this in real life. Our current squad is the worst we’ve had in 20 odd years. Years of throwing big money on average unambitious shyte hawkes have set us back massively and until they’re all eventually pushed out there’s not going to be massive change in our approach to games. This isn’t an easy job, it will take time but we have the right man to guide us to success.

Surprised he hasn't been sacked by now. But fully expect it to happen today..
Sean dyche has brought Burnley as far as he can and is the best option. Or failing that eddy howe. Need to act fast though before pre season.

I do agree with the idea of your post but in fairness I think we were 15th when he took over , we were in the bottom 3 when Duncan took charge . Ancelotti has taken us up a couple of places and we finished 12th .

like I say I agree with what you’re suggesting but I think we’d already seen a upturn in form when he landed.
This is the problem .No one reads the question ,when he came not when he took charge ! It was not what do think of him as a manager but how has his reign gone?

My only criticism of Carlo is that I would have liked him to give the youngsters more a chance. We’ve seen the impact Braithwaite has made, but the likes of Gordon (more starts) Kean, Simms and Beni should have made got more game time at the expense of the unmotivated bunch we’ve seen on the pitch lately.

It’s impossible to start a thread about Ancelotti and keep the players out of it. People are either genuinely thick or stupidly naive. Current squad is the worst we’ve had in over 20 years. Not one of them give a rats arse about this club, Coleman and Richarlison the exceptions. Not even any of your flavours of the month could get this current crop performing as a team and playing well consistently.
So how did you answer?

Imagine in any job, if you took on a managerial job for any company, you walked in to a team of gutless overpaid unprofessional unambitious meffs who know you’re a top manager who’s won all sorts with proven pedigree but know they can get away with all sorts because the company doesn’t have the resources to let them go and they can’t be replaced. The same team who have seen previous managers lose their jobs at the expense of their incompetence and can’t be arsed attitude and know fully well that if they persist eventually the company will turn on you and you’ll be pushed out only for the cycle to repeat with the next manager. This is the situation we have with this disgusting squad.

Hopefully a summer of maybe getting rid of some and been able to buy who he wants will give him a chance of not getting into that Routine of what seems like an Auto pick in the starting 11 like previous managers seem to do - IE Davies/Sig etc,

So how did you answer?

I answered yes as I believe there have been big improvements under him. In terms of him getting tactics and substitutes spot on. He’s changed it when he’s needed to unlike Silva who persisted with his square pegs in round holes.

My honest assessment is that it has been a research job and settling in period, and because of his confidence (in himself, and given to him by the board) he has taken his time to just try things out and see what will work and what won't work. The COVID - break doesn't come into play cos it affected everyone, but I think he took this as an extended pre-season, and didn't really try anything drastically new yet. This was a bonus, we have him, it's amazing, and the pre-season now is when we really see the work that he can do.

I don't agree on all but I support a lot of what you say ,I think that early on a lot of them have realised that they wont be wanted as Carlo has shown them in one way or another .I don't think the team overall is as bad as the results and I believe that when some new blood is here there will be a dramatic improvement .I think he could well bring a his own Captain to show the way .I wasn't trying to suggest he was in any way unsatisfactory quite the opposite .
We will all see as the window unfolds and I for one can't wait .
Next season will be much better and I would not at all be surprised to see us with a trophy and European football ,just because that is what Carlo wants and he has the club in his heart .
Hold on lads and lasses the change is a comin'.
