I wouldn’t say it’s down to bad parenting mate.

Fashion in schools in Liverpool has always been a thing. It was when I was a kid when I went to school in the 90s right through to the early 2000’s. From Helly Hansen jackets, Lacoste trackies and Rockports. Anyone who was seen wearing cheap brands was always made fun of and bullied. I’d imagine this still goes on to this day, especially when I see kids walking around with full Nike and Adidas gear, even kids walking around with Moncler coats on!

Can only imagine the bullying some little Evertonians will get rocking into school with the new Hummel training gear on while all their kopite mates, having just witnessed their team win the league, bounce around with their new Nike range gear on.

Bloody hell, I thought style was about what looked good and fitted well, not which label got stitched on it.

"Well good news Mr. Moshiri, we've negotiated a deal with Hummel that improves the income to the club by a quarter of a million each year over the last manufacturer"

"I'm boycotting it. No self respecting parent would ever dress their kids in Hummel."

What era did you go to school in mate and where about? In Liverpool it’s not about style it’s about brands. Always has been. Kids will get ripped.

The 90s. We had a uniform.

If i'm honest, I'm not sure the commercial department of any football club is arsed about kids getting ripped. Christ, we complain that Everton is a charity more than a world class sporting organisation and then kick off when they negotiate better commercial terms on the basis of kids possibly getting a bit of stick.

Thare a fair point mate however I can’t see them making much money on shirt sales or training gear just for that brand alone.

It's not a bad brand though, it's Everton.

My point is, no way can a kid get bullied for wearing Everton in Liverpool. I'm not having it. I understand your point, but this isn't like a pair of trainers for school or whatever, it's showing your support for your team.

If my kid was that ungrateful, i'd question myself. You can't magic out a nike tracksuit with an everton badge on it, so you're gonna either go without Everton stuff as a kid, which is unfathomable, or deal with Hummel.

Football shirts generally look terrible these days.

I’d have Kappa if they gave us enough money.

Only scallies who spend £300+ on a Hugo Boss tracksuit will be arsed which brand makes our kit.

Clearly they don’t mate and that’s understandable, the club must always look at the best income for the club, I get that. I may be wrong, just personally don’t see it being a big appeal to young scouse lads, especially the training gear and what not. I suppose there’s a bigger picture to just appealing local lads over brands though.

We have the opportunity to kick on as a club with a world renowned manager in charge and the first marketing idea the club has is to pick a kit manufacturer that was partly famous 29 years ago.

Some will say it doesn’t matter but what a club does off the pitch in this regard is massive. A few extra quid matters and if Everton think chasing hummel for cash is a wise move then so be it.

If we can’t attract big brands such as Puma (Newcastle) Adidas (Sheffield United) and Kappa (Aston Villa) then the club are either not a big enough commercially or thick as shjite for not picking a kit manufacturer that will be successful both home and abroad.

Kappa a big brand Hahaha, kappa would be just as bad if not worse.

If the club went with a ‘fashionable brand’ - say Under Armour or Adidas, they’d make more money because kids would buy the stuff. Loads of lads in there early 20’s/30’s wear under armour in Liverpool, I’d assume they’d buy Everton Under Armour stuff. Tourists on a day out would be more inclined to buy our stuff if it was made by a recognised brand. The bigger brands have their own shops, bigger manufacturing departments and have gear available world wide making it easier to buy Everton stuff outside of the city.
