King Louis working hand in hand with one of his best mates Marcel Brands ....could be ;)

I can see some logic in this but not totally convinced he’s the right man for the job.
2 or 3 year contract while the stadium gets done
Purely as a coach
Will give young players a chance
He will work with Brands
Will attract a better quality player
Gives Brands 2 or 3 years to overhaul the squad without too much interference from the manager
At the end there should be a squad in place that has players picked to play a certain style and ready for a younger man to come in and put his own stamp on the squad along with Brands.
No chance we would flirt with relegation but I could see a regular 7th spot or a push for 6th if one of the Sky Darlings slip up
Still hoping for Emery , Blanc , Fonseca

Why do people think Van Gaal is referring to Everton and not the Arsenal job if he's actually coming back to manage in England? I get that Brands is a loose connection, but Arsenal makes a lot more sense to me with Louis.

I think Ivan Gazidus statement about Arsenal maybe taking a risk or thinking outside the box may rule van Gaal out

Emery is easily the best available option. He won EL three years on the spin with Seville. Got Valencia back into La Liga top four consistently after picking up another catastrophic Koeman mess. All playing attractive football with a clear style and philosophy.
I agree , but there will be bigger clubs than us sniffing around.

Okay mate x
A CL win and a few league titles say hello

Oh the Ajax side of the mid 90s and the Barca side of the late 90s would like a word.

If you are judging him on his Tenure at United Moyes left him a mess and he won an FA ciup with them.
Not a big a mess as we are in but a mess nonetheless

Sorry that was meant for the post you replied to
By Boss Rarkley I think

Zatmania would run wild on here
Diapers and dummies everywhere

His Ajax side was brilliant...it had everything. Since then he has shown he is a top manager wherever he has been though his style at united was downright bizarre considering the club he was at. Also, I'm not sure that players particularly like him.

He would professionalise everything from top to bottom at the club and yet in a similar way to Wenger...although its a huge name I'm not sure if he is the correct person to go for...

Blanc also has a lot of weaknesses in his teams (they get pulled all over the place)

Fonseca is the most exciting but limited experience.

Silva looked very good at Hull (no players, no confidence but got them playing) and Watford until our approach...again though nosedived.

Theres no real standout candidate for me...

Lol The more i think about it Van Gall would be a massive improvement on all three of Martinez Koeman and Allardyce. However he didn't set the world on fire at Old Trafford, and he can be a very confrontational character. But Louis Van Gall would be a better appointment than the likes of Sean Dyche and Eddie Howe.To be fair both Dyche and Howe are good managers, who have pretty much done everything asked of them at Burnley and Bournemouth. But we should be and hopefully will be looking at more bigger name candidates.

The problem I have is that managers like van gaal will always be known for their former sides...e.g Ajax....wenger with arsenal etc

What we need is someone to come in and be known in the future for having success with us.

Given a choice of all those mentioned in all these threads who would you go for.
I’d go Emery , Blanc , Fonseca.
But as I posted earlier LVG and Brands working together would be a way of safely cleaning the mess up and putting us in better position to attract a quality manager in 3 years time to allow them to then put their own stamp on the squad in conjunction with Brands.
LVG would certainly fill your criteria of giving youth a chance
I could see Holgate , Keane , Vlasic ,Klassen, Lookman Pickford all being first team regulars under LVG by the end of his first season

It depends on which LVG we get....

The negative, safety first, treat players like robots manager OR the one who plays free flowing football like in his younger days.

If we could fast forward 2 years and see most of the u21s getting regular games and us finishing 7th both seasons then I think most people would take that with a view to then appointing a super up and coming manager with a great base of players...

Him and Brands would certainly make us very professional that's for sure.

However, I'm tempted to err on the side of danger and go for an exciting option....Fonseca or Silva for me I think.

Both of their systems and styles of play are exciting...

Maybe the reason Brands was stalling is that he wanted a manager he knows and trusts in place so that he can come in and do his job without any interference from the manager.
If he said LVG or else I don’t sign maybe that’s why LVG is being linked.
Brands would need 3 years of unhindered work to gut and re build this squad to a decent level.

Pure idle speculation on my part mind , but it wouldn’t be the first time or the last time I was totally wrong
