If Martinez went.....

Me too. That said I can't remember all out attack being particularly successful.

I appreciate a manager who can get the balance right. He's as off now as Moyes was at times, albeit in an opposite way.

If he realises he's got the balance wrong and rectifies it I'd be delighted. For some reason only e very best managers can do that and have the character to do something about it.

If he continues blindly then he's another run of the mill decent manager who can only play one way.

There's personnel and players available to make them changes. If he doesn't it's purely on him.

Dave can't respond in this thread mate which is for talk about who might people might want in charge if Martinez wasn't.

If you quote his post in the main Martinez thread then dave can natter to you about Martinez specific stuff.

You got any thoughts on who you might want in charge if Martinez wasn't ?

Sorry wooly!

I actually think the Watford fella is doing a superb job and appears to have an eye for a player that we always need. Also he's been at Valencia so he knows the drill at bigger clubs too.

I wonder if Jose fancies a completely different type of challenge too?

Just wait for the new US owners to arrive and appoint Pep or Jose, buy Messi and a few other overpriced lads and win the league.

TBH can't believe this thread is 15 pages long, so obvious.

He will be seen through straight away and rightly so.
The new owners won't have the patience for his shut your eyes management style.

I think you grossly mistaken mate. We've been a slumbering Club for the last 20 years and for 18 of them we've been for sale....there's been how many seriously interested parties? I'll tell you....a big fat zero. We now however have a young progressive team under the tutelage of a very bright ( but not faultless) manager. We're on TV all around the World exciting neutral football fans everywhere. Yes, defensively we leave a lot to be desired, but I definitely think that can be sorted with the introduction of a dedicated defensive coach. Entertainment puts bums on seats and gets the commercial tills ticking...Martinezs' brand of football is why investors are now interested....there's a team who are great to watch, who remain relative underdogs in the grand scale of the EPL and who are well on their way to being able to challenge for honours. Having a guaranteed premier league berth in this coming season and those that immediately follow and with an net rationing team gives potential investors the confidence to plough money in. The ground situation remains so that isn't a factor that's encouraging any investor either. As much as you don't like it, Bobby is a big positive when the corporate guys are presenting Everton for sale

Sanchez Flores has had a good 5 months at Watford.....Martinez had a brilliant 12 months here yet some want him out? Football fans are immensely fickle is the only conclusion I can reach.

He will be found out mate thats for sure.
I still laugh about him telling bill he was taking us into the champions league.
He can talk the talk but can't walk the walk

I thought you wanted a manager to aim high for Everton? Not to hold us back and limit expectation? Or is aiming high frowned upon this week?
