Harrison ----- NDIAYE ------- McNeil
Striker
That's personally how I see him predominantly setting up in the side. Sometimes he'll be wider and sometimes he'll be up front - but I fully expect his
main role to be just behind the striker, regardless of what we end up doing with Doucoure.
Me too mate, that's how i see it. I do think he can drift wide either left or right, to enable an over load, this also allows more space for midfield runners, curious we've been linked with the likes of O'Riley in recent days, though Docuoure as we know can arrive into the D and beyond to support play, if Illiam drifts inside for the overload.
Its a really key signing for me for a couple of reasons, i think it offers the squad a lot, the lad can play centrally and drift wide, lad can link the play, lad can advance the play, lad can stand on the ball, lad can create, lad can take responsibility, lad has end product. He can create overloads and really enables others. Im made up with this signing to be honest.
Another thing for me, is that we need a bigger sqaud, not just bigger but an active squad. We faded from Xmas - March because our squad was jaded/injured/AFCON, we need better, deeper and more active options - there were games that stood out last season like WHU, Bourmouth, Brighton and City - where the oppositions bench got them a result and we had nothing to influence the game to come on.
When i talk of depth im not talking about numbers - we in recent years have had squads with 30 players, but really a core of 20 or so - in fact we had at times 5-10 players out on loan or clicking their heels here and weren't active players. Huge swathes of them, costing a fortune and driving us toward two eventual PSR points deductions.
When i look now at our squad, almost everyone will be an active player, the only ones you look at who wont play a part or may go out on loan are Maupay and Holgate, everyone else will be active. Its really heartening - we are moving off, of ground zero of the awful recruitment we had under early Moshiri.
