"Is David Moyes Really As Good As People Make Out?"

Lets take the 2006/2007 season as an example:

Oh look we weren't top in 2006/2007

Oh look we weren't top again for days lost!

2006_07_analysis_5.gif

Oh look we didn't get the highest number of muscle injuries!

2006_07_analysis_7.gif

Oh look we were very low in hamstring injuries too!

Oh and the total cost in wages to the club was fairly average too...

Can we PLEASE get rid of this MYTH that Moyes causes injuries FFS

If you look at the injuries we get they happen in match (Coleman for example), how can these be blamed on Moyes's training?

I blame pulled muscles on the fact players don't warm up properly, and most other injuries are a result of nasty tackles in match. If we were getting players injured in training then fair enough, but we aren't, so it can't be justifiable to blame Moyes.

Obviously some injuries will be down to sheer bad luck.

However Jags', Yakubu's and Arteta's long-term injuries were all innocuous. They all just pulled up mid-game.

Damon why 06/07?

I was talking more about the past 2 or 3 seasons, when Yak, Jags and Arteta all had long term injuries.

Oh and for the record I'm not saying this is even the case, I was just defending the original guy who said it. I thought it merited more than an instant dismissal, as it's something I've pondered before.

I've quoted the stats.

I'll locate some stats for the period you're indicating also.

I can tell you that over the three years you'll see, when it comes to injuries we're even MORE average than we were average in the above lid.

You can tell me that before finding the stats?

Do you know them off by heart or something?

I bet you do as well, Damo.

I wasnt going to mention it but I hate being tricked into looking at bar charts. Damon if you find the time please find the graph/bar or pie chart that best proves that Arsenal are ready to financially implode.

I've looked into it closely. As I always do.

And as I said above I'll get more stats to back up the points too.

But you can't deny. The above shows that Moyes is not a cause otherwise that would consistently stand out.

Oh and before you say anything about Steve Round, he didn't join Newcastle until after the 2006/2007 season (where he was with England)

Off topic and irrelevant.

And Damo W responded for me anyway. "POTENTIAL"

That's because players don't warm up properly pre-match, it's the same all around the country. These injuries never seemed to happen years ago.

Its actually because the average muscle mass of the players has increased from the 80's onward - they think.

Well for consistency we need more than one of his nine seasons in charge.

I will await your statistics. Which will probably prove you right, like....

Fair enough then have the good grace to on-topic prove your point in the Arsenal thread. As I recall Damo's point was that in theory every business has the potential to fail. Is that really your whole arguement?
