Is everyone over reacting?

A lot of unwarranted fume - think back to the dog days of Brown Shoes and Red Ronnie. We are getting in a hugely experienced BRITISH manager.

The Sammy Lee situation concerns me, but Big Sam clearly gets us in ways Koeman never would.

Yes because we'll still only be five points clear more than likely even in that scenario.

And based on what has come before - you know, our recent 4-1 drubbing at a side that couldn't score for toffee (pardon the pun) and our three wins in 13 league games - that two successive wins are likely?

You'd like to think it's doable, but I have zero faith in this squad.
Mate am with you, but my point is Allardyce is mid March appointment when your 3-4 points adrift with 8-10 games left!!! We’re not even half way through the season. This is a disgraceful decision IMO

Mid March would be too late as we won't see an immediate upturn.

The team needs a new system implementing and that will take 3-4 weeks to adjust.

It's a disgrace it's got to this, it really is. A better choice should and easily could have been made 4 weeks ago.

I really wanted a Simeone or Tuchel or Silva (unproven as yet, but I think he’s going places).

If we couldn’t get them, then Fat Sam is infinitely better than what we could have ended up with. Moyes, O’Neil, Coleman etc...

I really don’t care about the “corruption” thing. The game is utterly riddled with corruption. I’d rather have a pragmatist, who knows how to play the game to allow us to compete.

And looking beyond the big fat thicko appearance, he’s a a student of the game. England lost a good manager, way better than Southgate will ever be.

I actually don’t think that’s possible to just jib them off totally but maybe it is for some! We’ve been taken for granted far too long and this situation and appointment is the final straw for me. I won’t back this decision they’re making with my hard earned cash.

What happens if it does pay off though?

You never know.

I actually don't think he is that bad a manager. Wouldn't be my choice if I am being honest, purely due to the divisiveness of the appointment, but I will give him a chance like I would anyone else.

Of course we need to do something, but this!!! Alan Pardew is a better option than him
Worst possible manager in order of priority.

1) Allardyce
2) Pardew
3) Pulis
4) O'Neill
5) The fat git at Newcastle.

Not asking much to pick anyone not on that list.

What do you mean pay off?? He keeps us in the league??

There are thousands upon thousands of managers that could do that mate!

It's like anything people don't agree with, at first they vent their anger.

Second, get on with it.

Third, months down the line say how they always said it was a good idea.

You would take Allardyce over Pardew?? Really?
All day long - don’t get me wrong - Fat Sam is a loathsome person in the extreme, represententing all that is bad in football, but the other person you named - I am sworn never to say that name - is beyond, beyond the pale.
