I think the term used back them was 'mulato' rather than mixed race. We should celebrate the fact our club was open-minded. In the 1920s many other's wouldn't have been that progressive. I know it sounds ridiculous now, but it would have been a big deal.

when did all this "race" issue start then. it seems a bit like that old chestnut "why did all the jews go meekly to their deaths" next minute - the film Defiance is made and the oxygen of publicity gets to some little known history. black slavers used to sail up the western coast of europe and up to scotland to kidnap whole villages to sell on. true history is a great thing - the rubbish that gets passed off as truth/history in these dark days is only fantasy stories to feed an agenda.

You recognise reporting agencies are prone to bias (which they are and always have been) so you'll have no trouble reading opposing views of the same subject and coming up with your own view.

i thought that was a given. the school system teaches these biases not just the s*n. youre spreading the discussion too thin by name dropping irrelevant historical characters. what point are you trying to make by bringing up israelies today?

I thought it was interesting and evenmoving at times (how could you fail to feel for Carlisle’s dad when hereflected on the treatment he’d suffered and the reasons for him not taking hisown son to the game), even if it was hardly revelatory – except, it seems toClark Carlisle himself who, alone amongst his fellow pros, had not been a victim of racist abuse. The fact that Carlisle went into it nor thinking racism was an issue gave the programme a certain credibility. If the man had an agenda, it was to prove that racism was not rife in football.

Good god the first part mentions suarez and terry and then the 'omg these 2 incidents means football is racist'. I think the generaloutrage when these 2 incidents came to light (1 which has now been proved innocent) proves that racism isn't tolerated.
