It's good news, he can be frustrating but he's a worker who understands the managers instructions in a position we are short. I really dislike our fans desire to hate on our own players.
In a world of predominantly right footed players, I just want a half skilled right footed winger to be able to whip the ball in naturally from that flank. It isn't hate for him, it's a real dislike for the breakdown in play that occurs so often because this option doesn't exist. The stop start play on our right side means Cal-Lewin isn't being fed crosses he can play on from that side. It actually reduces his game by 50%. Because McNeil isn't exactly quick as hot toast, the slow down of play and pressure on the CB's just doesn't happen often enough. Cal-Lewin suffers again because we can't isolate a CB for him to either beat to the ball or get position for the header.
We are so predictable in our play, because we are so slow and unwilling and unable to deliver the ball first time into the danger areas. Scrapping and fighting for FK's and corners is all well and good, we need more from open play. Harrison is a symptom of our setup and style.

If me aunt had...

Yeah but you’re literally blaming wide players for something that isn’t their fault. If we hadn’t created any chances all season then you’d have a point but we massively underscored our XG and we can all remember multiple absolute sitters missed by the central strikers. Harrison could be sat here on double the number of assists and have put in the exact same performances if DCL and Beto had finished even averagely well.

Sean Dyches sides have averaged 40 goals a season over his whole career, its a manager problem, not a player problem.

If you want more goals, we need a better manager, its really that simple.

DCL under a good manager = 21 goals
DCL under a rubbish manager = 7 goals

Develop patterson or buy a full back, tell me how many teams play without at least one at least one inverted winger.

It's a perfectly reasonable signing

With the love-in for Young, Patterson should have had a season at PSV or similar last year. Needs competitive game time to get position and press engrained in him. He'll be 23 in October, it's crunch time.

Dyche hates Patterson - I'm sure he'll be more than happy if we can sell him this summer.

In fairness he's not been good for us at all, looked every bit as poor as Coleman and Young despite being 10-15 years younger. Injuries can take a bit of the blame as he has been unlucky there, but he's not impressed me at all when played.

That all having been said, as the others are awful too, I think he should have played more last season.

He was injured when , he signed last summer. Hopefuly with a preseason and maybe Dyche willl play him on the left. We will see a better version of Jack Harrison. Sensible loan though, not need for settling in and we know he works hard.
