He's stood out once he moved up to the u21s and the only question about him was can he learn the tactical/positional side of the game and match that with his undoubted energy and speed to get up and down.

He's had a fair few injuries but last season was quite consistent. Pace wise alone he'd offer something as a full back we've probably never seen, but defensively it's a huge step up.

I hope we see a lot more of him in the coming games, I'd love him to grab this opportunity with both hands and make it impossible for Dyche not to consider him an option

I believe in omens.

This lads name is Roman
Our best FB is years was Leighton

My eldests name is

Roman Leighton.

I'll tell you what mate, Dixon didn't do himself any harm at all yesterday. Hopefully he gets another chance to impress against Coventry on Tuesday.

….Dyche said in his post-match interview that the 2nd half was to give some of the youngsters a run-out, he also suggested none are near the first team but Dixon has been getting more game time than the others.

….and quite right too;

Oh got it, so you would have prioritised a backup to DCL and I'm assuming a starting right back (relegating the three we have further down) ahead of O'Brien.

Fair enough, it's your opinion. I'd rather not be an injury away from having to play Keane as a starter tbh

Its part of the problem that's got us into this financial mess, building layers of players on existing players when we cant move them which leads to an unsustainable wage bill.

Ins have to be dictated by outs.

As soon as we re-signed both Young and Coleman it was pretty clear the least area we'd look at this summer would be right back with already having Patterson here too.

Its an area that needs succession planning for sure, i suspect its next summer work though, i think Left back in more a priority, the fact we havent looked at a RB also so far suggests to me we haven't waived the white flag at Nathan yet.

Looking at it with an analytical eye, Young, Coleman and Nathan all stepped into the breach at times last season and we still brought home one of the best defensive records in the league last season - in terms of priority...............

We lost one Centre half, another comes in, that's about right.
