Nyz, for me yes he does but his best attribute has been neutered by the team he's in, he has great progressive passing, problem is with us who the hell can he progress it too. With the new additions hopefully we will see now.
For who? Because he hasn't shown that for us, England or Forest.

He's done pretty much as expected for us since he joined considering the position the club was in without being spectacular.

If ( as we all hope ) our situation changes on the pitch he will start to shine.

Good solid reliable performer for us but time to step right up Jimmy.

Onana had a similar amount of progressive passes last season with 2/3 of the minutes.

To me, he needs to show more. He can look great at times, on the front foot and making things happen. But quite often he's completely anonymous as well.
Thing is for me is this.

If last season I heard that garner would be out rather than Onana I'd be more worried

We just sold Onana for 50m.

For me Garner was more important

Yes...got his best years ahead of him...hopefully here.

As a fan base we are way too quick to slate players mate, I've seen it's dozens of times way back even to the likes of Sheedy, sometimes just sometimes just because people like to moan.

If any evertonian thinks that Jimmy g is within the top 10 of our problems frankly they're a [Poor language removed] idiot

Reminds me a lot of Kevin Richardson , not lauded like the trophy winners of that great side but very much revered by his team mates and supporters.
He's a vital part of where we need to be.

Totally agree mate and a great comparison.

Can say the same about Reid as well

Or carswell

Players players make the entire team tick , I feel garner is the exact same type

Btw all those players gey/got stick about not being good enough etc ...

Think people forget he's only 22 at times also

That’s because he’s 23.

Again, he had a solid season overall, was put in a bunch of different positions, but I don’t think it’s quite time to make a big commitment to him

Yes, turned 23 in March.

Most of the season of course he was 22 and seemed knackered January-ish onwards.

As soon as Gana was dropped and Onana/Garner were central he showed alot more than he did 2nd half of the season.

He's a good all rounder and I'd happily give him an extension -- i think if we wait until season end -- he may decide to ride out one year and move for free.

Don't understand that thinking one bit mate, yeah without him last year we'd be playing ehstbge [Poor language removed] do we have in the centre last year
Sorry mate im yet to see any or very few dominant performances from him, its all a bit safe, from a midfielder i want to see more.

I think he's a player who can do 'a job' in a few positions but without actually being great in any.
I dont think he is noticable when he plays.
