He's class, more so in a system like ours, but not every side plays a system like ours.

There's a lot of great players you can get for the 25-30m we'd demand. Take your blue specs off and you'll see that.

He's perfect for us and for bobs system though.

I didn't mention price. Take your smart specs off and just read what I wrote at face value and nothing more.

Think McCarthy will be with us for as long as Martinez is.

For a young lad he is very mature - he has realised that nothing improves your game quite like playing and he at ~250 (150 in the premier league). He knows that in Roberto's system if he is fit he is a guaranteed starter and that he will ensure he's dealt a fair hand financially. He also seems very family orientated, think he likes our relaxed dressing room and having his Irish colleagues like Coleman around.

Well said.

I haven't got smart specs on. I just said that a CM, not a DM, who doesn't score or create won't be that highly valued by a club, and coach, looking at the higher echelons of european football.

The price is what I'd imagine we'd be looking for based on Bob's comments.

Anyone else like me, old enough to remember when they were relegated in the 70's?

No. But I remember feeling sorry for them in the late 80's/early 90's because they seemed to me to be a mid-table side who were ok in the cups.

I do find it odd when Manu fans in their 40's/50's think the club has a divine right to be champions, they must have lived a lot of their lives before seeing their club crowned league winners.

As for McCarthy I'm really not concerned about him leaving, it must be obvious to him this is the right club for him presently.

United have always had one of the biggest match going fan bases despite being very average for a lot of their history. Probably why they were skys team of choice with the re-branding of the top division.

Certainly am, but dont think i found it as funny then as I would if it were to happen these days - second only to it happening to the kopites! My real "dislike" of Man U only really started in the mid 90's when Sky "adopted" them and their supporters conveniently forgot about any history prior to 1992 and began to think they had an automatic right/entitlement to win things!

Okay.

He'll stay and so he should, cracking first season in a team on the up, under a manager who rates him very highly. Why would you leave to goto utd.
