Like that time you got lost in Kwik-Save and ended up suckling the teat of a guy named Tony while your mum rimmed a 17 year-old shelf stacker in the stock room? Is it like that time, or the time you didn't win the league every year for a quarter of a century?
Think hes saying your a bad kopite mate.
Ha ha didn't even realise
As if I would waste my time comb on another teams forum

Can't we just sell Barkley instead? He'd be the one for me to go if we needed to raise money. NEA lads. He was appalling last year and has only ever shown about 5 genuine flashes of 'genius' in his whole time in the first team. I think he lacks the hunger needed to make it to the very top, and it's make or break time for him now.

Bollocks. He's a far superior player than McCarthy with the ball and I would prefer him over McCarthy in that No 8 position. We may even create a few more chances.

I'm not saying I want McCarthy to leave but it's hardly the end of the world playing Besic and Barkley instead of Barry and McCarthy.

That said I'm looking forward to a midfield 3 of McCarthy, Barkley and Cleverly next year.

Doesn't Ross just run into other players and lose the ball most of the time? Sorry, but he stunk the place out in 80% of games last season and has lost a lot of support from me. I'm desperate for him to come good, but it's no longer valid to talk about his bad injury three years ago as an excuse for him not being good enough.

Hope he can be a key player this year.

Besic isn't consistent or mature enough to lace McCarthy's boots yet. Not saying he can't be as good or better but he's nowhere near ready to replace McCarthy.
That's true but if City come calling then we will get about 10m more for him than we would selling to someone else in a year when Besic would be ready.

It's a tough one and I think I would only be interested if we could actually use the money and be able to attract someone. I wouldn't want him to go without someone else coming in.

I'm talking about as the player he is now. His passing is far superior to McCarthy who generally keeps things nice and simple but Barkley has a far greater range. He's also got much better control and balance and can receive the ball further forward without losing it. McCarthy is far far superior defensively. I just think Barkley will improve the defensive side of his game while McCarthy is probably the finished article. In a couple of years there won't be any doubt who is the better player.

I think Barkley will have a big season next year playing a more mature game deeper but it won't be as swashbuckling as his first. His days of playing further forward which frankly don't really suit him unless we're playing a counter attacking game are thankfully looking to be over.

Why don't we sell you. First wool team who puts 10 bob on the table and your gone.

Look everyone, it's a kopite who used to write about Everton in the Liverpool Echo, Chris Bascombe who has wrote this article for the Irish independent.

Big spending Manchester City set sights on Ireland star James McCarthy

Manchester City are understood to be considering a swoop for Ireland star James McCarthy, having wrapped up a £49m deal for Liverpool's Raheem Sterling.
City appear to be turning their attention to Everton man McCarthy after missing out on England star Fabian Delph, who opted to stay at Aston Villa.

However, Everton would strongly resist any effort to lure the McCarthy, who would be another hugely expensive acquisition should City succeed with a bid.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have resumed talks with Aston Villa over Christian Benteke but have been warned there will be no deal unless the Belgian striker's £32.5m buy-out clause is triggered.
