I don't have scouts around the world mate whereas he should do and probably does.
You're trying to play the passing game with people who can't. For this to work, we will need 2 new CBs as jagielka and distin can't pass a ball to save there life. A person like Daniel Agger who can carry it out.
God knows why we didn't sell vellios, he will never play as lukaku/mirallas/deulofeu/jelavic/kone are all ahead of him. So that is like 10-15k of the wage bill.

Answer this, would you rather go to South america/spain and get a decent player who have technical ability or get Kone/McCarthy/Alcaraz (never seen alcaraz much but he wern't really a ball playing defender)

He has ONE transfer window and has just joined the club. You don't know where he will sign the next few players from. Quit moaning and have some patience.

Alcaraz is most definitely a ball playing defender. You are complaining about players you don't seem to know about.

A ball playing defender who passes out of defence is exactly what Alcaraz is, and thats why he was signed. I suspect that once the system is working with more pace we may well see Kone do a lot better.Mccarthy will always be decent, but theres a chance he may become exceptional in the next few years, once his confidence grows.

So if he is a Ball playing defender, he should start ahead of one of our CB's then if martinez wants the passing game to work. we'll see won't we

I have watched about 20-25 games with him in.
Just like Henderson, I have seen him for about 2 seasons and still don't know what position he is, he runs around like a tool

Henderson has started this season very well.

A lot of top journos rate McCarthy quite highly, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders. Lets not write him off just yet.

top journos? who are these lad, don't say Balague as he talks smack.

We will see in a couple of years if he will be worth more than whatever we paid for him

Summarise him for me mate. I could do with hearing a positive review of the lid.

Well to describe what stands out about him for me is that he can turn possession over very quickly by being in exactly the right place at the right time, including interceptions on attacks going into the box. It is in this way that he reminds me of Keane. He produces this little burst of pace to win one on ones and get his team on the attack.

Now from there, he will most often pick a pass, mostly simple, to one of the attacking players. His positioning and reading of the game is very good for his age.

He has shown in glimpses that he can hold possession in tight positions further forward also before calmly laying it off. He was very very good in a friendly against Spain for example whilst being pressed.

Now this is just my gut feeling but he can get forward more than we'd expect and is improving his shooting and willingness to join the attack. I think in a better team now and with the confidence it will give him he will become a very exciting box to box mid who can also play the sitting/holding role for us with no lack of passing ability.

I am 100% sure this kid will be in our first team for seasons to come, and will be a fan favourite.
