His biggest weakness for me is that he's either unintelligent as a footballer or a coward. When we have the ball he's NEVER open. Compare him to Barry and Gueye who move around and give other players an option. McCarthy puts pressure on his own team with this major weakness and should never start another game for Everton. Arsed if he sits on the bench for a few years and rots but I'd rather see us get some return on his fee.
Stick him in a Pulis team that bypasses the midfield and the lad will do well.

Not the pass - the fact that when he makes those runs he nearly always creates a chance or scores.
All of his goals / assists for us have come from that.
As a 'third-man' runner he's excellent. He just doesn't do it nearly often enough. Needs to shirk away from shying away and do it more often.

Like twice per season.....not good enough for where we want to be.
As I have said, he needs to improve. I'm pretty sure the first thing Koeman will have said to him is that he needs to get forward more.
If he does that and stops limiting his own game, we all know how good he can be.
Looked like he did decent tonight so I'm fully ok with him playing every fixture against Yeovil.
Think Koeman has said to him tell your agent to find you a club.
There will be another better player brought in for that role.
