I hope he stays. Like most of the squad, he lost confidence in Martinez's incompetent/dysfunctional coaching and could rediscover his best form under Koeman. No reason we can't see big improvement from existing, underperforming players, just as Klopp has done and Mournino, Guardiola, Conte will produce.

There does seem to be a sense of entitlement creeping in with our support. Very dismissive of our players and happy to indulge shitty behaviour by Kone at Sunderland. Unpleasant.

Absolutely spot on. It dates from the moment Moshiri came in. Fantasy Football mentality. Let's not prefer a manager can come in and coach better performances out of existing players or be patient for academy players to come in and get valuable experience. Open the chequebook, "coz were brewstered now lad".

Ahhh...so you're going to compare El Fraudo inheriting the Moyes backline to Koeman who has inherited the backline from El Fraudo? Nice comparison.

I'm hoping Koeman can see something in McCarthy which he can improve with coaching, but I suspect he'll be sold and the proceeds recycled in other areas of the squad.

It does look like he's for the chop, which is a shame as he was superb for us when he first joined, but stagnated badly in the last 18 months. We have no shortage of midfielders fighting for a spot so if we get a good offer for him I suspect he'll go.
