I don't get this, we all knew his injury problems, very well documented. We all accepted he probably wouldn't be playing for Everton if he didn't suffer these injuries. It's disappointing and we never get to see a fully fit James but just enjoy him when he does play because he does damage. He does more and causes more attacking threat in the games he does play than all the others without him.
He obviously has some sort of anatomical/physiological problem that is causing these injuries time and again, the body can cause all sorts of problems if it isn't in sync with itself. I don't know what it is, just accept that his injuries are the reason he is here at all.

Oh, we all accepted it when he came here. But now that he is here he should suddenly become a physical rock that never misses a minute of any game ever.

If we are to have any chance of beating City in the cup we need him in and amongst the squad. If it means him sitting this one out I'm fine with that. We can beat Burnley without him I think we need all our big guns for City. Top 4 is my priority but if we beat City the cup looks like a serious prospect and nothing is written that both can't be achieved. If he sits this next one out then plays in 10 of the remaining (hopefully) 13 games he could be the difference.

Yeah, it's crackers, like everyone to a man/woman knew his injury problems, not one single person expected him to be fit for every game. You have to remember he hasn't played properly for a while before joining us either so was never fit to start with.
Just enjoy the games he plays, he's pretty good and does some pretty naughty things with a round thing.

if he misses the burnley game that drops down to 55%
he's on course to probably only start half of our league games this season
the only way i can see him staying beyond next season is if we bring in another creative player to fill the void whilst he is absent
at the moment our next most creative player is sigurdsson who 90% of this forum despises and whose contract is up next summer.
in many ways this summer needs huge investment in a right back, right winger, a backup striker and a creative midfielder

Has he been confirmed as out of the Burnley game? For me we’re up against it in the city game. Dacoure is already missing, if we have any chance whatsoever he has to play. His ability to see a pass and set piece quality on the the opposite side to Digne could win us that game
