2021/22 James Rodriguez

I don't think Everton know what they're doing.

Also, I'm not blaming Everton for what James said yesterday.

Everton do. They don't want the player, he's deemed surplus to requirements. Whether that's right or wrong is subjective, but they've made that call consciously.

And with James behaviour, it's increasingly looking like the right call. A professional would have got on with training and be ready for selection, not going on social media saying "LOL don't know who theyre playing lolololol"

It's a shame it's ending like this, but with Everton consisting of a bunch of coward mercenaries on the pitch, getting rid of a bad apple is increasingly making sense.

No, they exist to try and win things, which we haven't done for 26 years.
You are angry at the club right now and we all are, but channelling that through the Rodriguez situation isn’t probably the best route.

He’s just a player and not arsed about being here. Can’t say I blame him, but he’s well paid, the least he can do is act professionally until he leaves the club.

The club don't have to say exactly who is available each week. There are possibly confidentiality issues with covid as well.

It's got to the stage where if he's leaving, it needs to be done asap. This current situation isn't good for anyone, neither the club if they need the money, or the player who presumably doesn't want to be here.

All they had to do was put out an initial statement as to why there were some players training away from the group mate. Loads of clubs have done it. They confirm positive covid cases or isolation or whatever but don't say who it is (sometimes they do of course). I know, I've been covering it for 18 months now.

No ones backing him. Just people are wise enough to know:
1. The club probably want him out
2. It’s hardly surprising that when asked the question about an upcoming fixture he up to date
It's unprofessional...if that is what he said.

There are probably half a dozen other players at the club who are trying to arrange transfers away but we really don't know because they are acting in the proper manner.
We really don't know who has been told they can leave and if they don't go then they can be used in the squad.
James has soured his relationship with some of the Everton supporters.

I meant in general mate. We're a club with no direction. We have a DoF who seems to be about as useful as a chocolate toothbrush and our owner has thrown good money after bad so much that we're now up the creek financially. At least the stadium, so far, is progressing. If we commit fully and bring in the likes of Longstaff and whichever other tinpot player Rafael wants (Rondon was a target, btw) then it just makes all that worse too. More short-termism, except instead of James it's Rondon.

I don't think he's a bad apple within the squad though - everybody seems to get along with him just fine. We've had genuine bad apples and they've stayed or are still here in some cases.

I've said all along, I just don't think James cares either way. But that's just him. I'm not saying I love that attitude, of course I want him to care for the club, but also I'm not going to get all upset about it and I'd rather him stay than the alternative.

If he goes I also don't mind, but that relies on us getting better players in to cover the squad and honestly I don't trust the people in charge to do it.

I think he's likeable enough, but you're paying a player massive money who is half arsed in everything he does professionally, and like in any job if a colleague sees that they'll invariably have a "why should I bother if he's paid more and doesn't bother" mindset.

Everton are a basket case as a club because we've accommodated this type of mercenary too often for too long. Under Moyes, players were vetted to have an attitude that fitted into the club ethos - that no longer happens, so we have the likes of Iwobi rocking up for £30m.

It needs to stop. The club needs direction.

That would have helped a lot tbh, but we are probably the worst club in the PL in regards to PR/fan communication, we are dreadful at it and have been for years.

Direct quote

“I will start training on Monday, I think," he said, as cited by AS.

“On the weekend I will not play, I don't even know who Everton is playing, can you please tell me?

“I think it is away because the past was here at home. Ah, against Leeds they play, away from home, against Bielsa, a difficult game, let's see what happens, hopefully they win."

Lots of "They" from James there, when refering to Us/Everton - fellas a dope.

Plus whys he only training again on monday?! Wtf has he been doing in isolation? Does he mean team training again? Probably at his new club....

Wish he would just keep schtum.

Yes, as bad as that flipping Harry and Megan.

You've spent the last few pages saying it's only really here there's any mention of it.

Nope.

Here's another;

And another;

I said it's the only place where it is getting any traction. Most of the places I go on have been like "OK, whatever" about it.

Those links are just copying and pasting the original source in the main, a source that is not really a valid one anyway. Until I see any actual evidence of him saying it then It's merely worth a shrug of the shoulders.

That's not to say he hasn't said it either but I am not ready to to start calling him all sorts because some tickless twitter account said he said it.

For me there are two camps of supporters at present:

1. The Benitez Camp - happy for a manager to come in and slowly clean out the lazy dossers who've taken us for a ride for years

2. The anti Benitez / pro James Camp desperate for Everton to persist with slow tippy tappy players and calling Benitez/his type of players "dinosaurs" "hoofball" "sand dune runners".

As you say Moyes had us like the latter and looking at WHU last season that's how basket case clubs like us punch above our weight - not trying to be something we're not playing hollywood with Ancelotti and Rodriguez.

It doesn't look as though he has a place here, irrespective of what he says or does. It is also highly likely that what he said has been taken out of context to some degree.

You don't have to hate any of the parties involved for him doing one to make sense. Let's just find someone who will pay his wages and get him gone ASAP.

James wants to be a social media star, but he forgets that it’s football that has made him a star, not the other way around

he is not a good speaker, he is not interesting, he is not even respected as a smart guy

he really needs to remember his priorities

really really dumb guy man
