His buying policy is very odd indeed...go for top pkayers like lukaku, eto, mccarthy and sign anload of donkeys around them....nonsensical.

Lescott, Baines, Arteta, Jagielka, Coleman, Mirallas, Pienaar have all been good enough to play at top four level after being bought by Moyes. All were bought for less than 7 million as well, you will have to show me where Kev's 8 million transfer fee has been confirmed.

McCarthy was a good buy and he is top four quality. Lukaku looks like he has the potential to get to top 4 standard, and we have paid the price for his potential. But his other signings have been of lower mid table standard, and I don't think he is going to be anywhere near as good as Moyes in getting top four quality players at value prices.

Instead, I think he has a propensity to get a hard on over players that are average at best, and then tell us all that they are phenomenal. I bet you we ignore the likes of Delph and sign the likes of Cleverly.

just ignore moyes duffer buys then?

Moyes transfer record speaks for itself, if Martinez can replicate Moyes' record in the transfer market then we will be fine. I'm just worried that Martinez gets far too carried away with players who are nowhere near top four standard. We need more McCarthy and Mirallas and less Cleverly and McGeady.

Konoplyanka would be a good signing as same case as Mcgready whose end up contract at next summer

Konoplyanka on a free would be brilliant business.

Konoplyanka: Free
Sigurdsson: £15 mil
Kjaer: £6 mil

Howard

Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines

Mccarthy Barkley

Konoplyanka Sigurdsson Mirallas

Lukaku

Would be a much free flowing team with more pace in the side.

You think he will sign two wingers?

I know this is the January transfer window thread, but I imagine that we'll sign two wingers either January or Summer window (maybe one in each).

Primarily because Pienaar might not even be an Everton player next season, whether it's a fitness issue or wanting to move closer to home. Also we'll be losing Atsu at some point, and Mirallas for all we know might leave.

Either way we've been playing people on the wing when they're far from wingers, and when Kono is surely available for a reasonable price in January/Depay wanting to make a step up into the best league in the world, you never know I guess

Bringing in someone of Kjaer's quality and having 4 CB's of Jags, Stones, Kjaer and Browning rotating would be great

Imagine clearing out the others and just having mirallas as the winger...then signing Kono, Depay and Deulofeu....

We can but dream.

Would be great and from a realism perspective, I wouldn't say it's completely unrealistic.

Is kjaer still up to it though? Very odd he moved to france as was once considered a top proapect.

Well I've only seen him a handful of times recently but he seems to be the type of player we could use at the back: tall and commanding in the air. I know Distin is huge, but Kjaer seemed much more commanding that him in the air.

Whether he's as good consistently I'm not sure, but he seemed a good option from the few times I've watched

I'd take Sigurdsson for sure. He's one of the best attacking players in the league outside of the top 4 or 5 teams.
Yeah. Bit of a shame we didn't go for him in the summer, but I suppose with Barkley's potential it was probably felt that other positions were more of a priority, like striker. Bloody frustrating that we have such a small budget compared to other teams.

As for January - gotta max out our loans and try cheeky low bids for a players out of contract in the summer. No actual full-price transfers, if that makes sense.
