Daley Blind is out of contract at Man United at the end of the summer. He's 27 years old so should be in his prime, left-back who can cover as left-sided defender and defensive midfielder. Pretty much ticks the boxes of what we need; and with his contract running down United's bargaining power will be greatly reduced.

He's not exactly a marquee signing, but he could do a good, solid job for us.

He's like a good version of Neville without all the pointing

Article today about everton offering double salary and 70 m transfer budget to Watford manager.

Sad to say that 70 m will not get us much in the January window. Realistically in today's market a decent but not great prem striker will be 30-45 m, CB 15-25.

It does look like we may spend 220m this year and end up with same level of quality team as we had last year- unbelievable. That will keep us mid table.
Could be more with the right sales. Think we’ll be showing a few the door.

Think this would be a fairly realistic window that would strengthen the areas of the squad that need it most:

Denis Zakaria (Strong, powerful CM and comfortable on the ball)

Marvin Plattenhardt (Young, German international LB, excellent left foot)

Jonny Evans (Solid left-sided CB with lots of PL experience)

Willian Jose/Jamie Vardy/Stefan Jovetic (A striker, take your pick, but these would be my 3 main choices)

Would look to move on Mirallas, McCarthy, Besic, Lennon and Cuco for sure, and a Championship loan for DCL, hopefully we can recall Onyekuru too.

Everton setting out their stall to prospective new signings in January:

"We're a club with a massive, illustrious history. We've got lots of ambition, a new stadium on the horizon. Now, have a chat with our latest caretaker manager Franny Jeffers - we have no idea who will be in charge in the summer but we know it will be a big name....a statement of intent"

Inaki Williams and William Jose would both be good. That should fix our attack.

Or how about william Shatner?
