Our strategy should follow Spurs. Develop young players from our academy, scout lower leagues/foreign leagues for up and coming talent and buy proven PL talent strategically( in areas where we need them!) who are below the age of 25.This whole cherry picking from Top six bloated squads or the best player from relegation fodder hasn't worked for us. We need to build a hungry vibrant squad look at Spurs we weren't far away from them until a few years ago.
Think we wont get N'ZCan see Left Back , Walcott if Wenger lets him and after Big Sam has "assessed" his midfield N'Zonzi last day of the window.
It would be like writing Lookman off and feeling pressured to buy someone like Walcott instead of giving him 5-6 games...
...oh, wait. We are going to actually do that.
You wouldn’t have Wilshire? He’s in a different class to our midfield offering....
...we’re virtually at the half way point of this January transfer window and here’s a round-up of rumours for this Monday morning;
- According to The Liverpool Echo, Everton will step up their attemps to bring in Arsenal’s Theo Walcott this week. Talks have already taken place between the clubs about a £20m Transfer for the 28 year old. The Daily Mail reports Allardyce will not guarantee Walcott a central attacking role.
- The Bristol Post says Everton, Brighton and Leeds are battling for the signature of 17 year old Jordan Stevens who plays for Forest Green.
- 4th Official reports Burnley are strong favourites to sign Everton’s 30 year old winger, Aaron Lennon.
- 4th Official also links Everton with a £20m move for West Ham’s 27 year old winger, Michail Antonio.
- Sunday’s edition of Catalan newspaper, Sport, says Everton will have to pay €25m to sign Barcelona’s Rafinha on a permanent deal, although the club are prepared to listen to offers of a loan deal for the player. The Brazilian holds a Spanish passport so a work permit wouldn’t be a problem. Gerard Deulofeu is also available which could bring Everton a percentage of any transfer fee.
- Turkish outlet, Fotomac, report Everton Forward Oumar Niasse would prefer a move to Galatasary over Crystal Palace or West Brom. Galatasary are waiting on a response to their enquiry for a loan move ahead of a possible permanent transfer. TEAMtalk website says Newcastle United are interested in bringing the 27 year old to Tyneside.
- The Sunday Express say Everton could still make a move for Atlético Madrid’s 29 year old Argentinian, Nicola Gaitan, but only if their pursuit of Theo Walcott fails.
- According to L’Equippe, Everton are being lined up to sign 20 year old Lille Forward, Martin Terrier, despite the player being on loan at Strasbourg. Apparently Lille have financial problems and a deal could bring in €20m.
