Walcott isn’t the answer. Been in this league 11 years and can anyone recall him having a great season were everyone sits up and takes notice. We’re doing what we done with the likes of Gibson, Saha taking cast offs who will give us the odd few goals and performance. We’ve got Lookman and Vlasic there who id rather play week in week out we aren’t gonna finish in a European place so why not use these two for the remaining games of this season what worse can happen we’re out of cups not in Europe it is a no brainier. The priority is a left back we should be doing everything to solve that, Throw 15-20 million at Celtic for Kieran Tierney that’s Are left back position sorted for a long long time kids quality.

I agree on Tierney. But try doubling that £15m fee you quoted.

...we’re virtually at the half way point of this January transfer window and here’s a round-up of rumours for this Monday morning;

- According to The Liverpool Echo, Everton will step up their attemps to bring in Arsenal’s Theo Walcott this week. Talks have already taken place between the clubs about a £20m Transfer for the 28 year old. The Daily Mail reports Allardyce will not guarantee Walcott a central attacking role.

- The Bristol Post says Everton, Brighton and Leeds are battling for the signature of 17 year old Jordan Stevens who plays for Forest Green.

- 4th Official reports Burnley are strong favourites to sign Everton’s 30 year old winger, Aaron Lennon.

- 4th Official also links Everton with a £20m move for West Ham’s 27 year old winger, Michail Antonio.

- Sunday’s edition of Catalan newspaper, Sport, says Everton will have to pay €25m to sign Barcelona’s Rafinha on a permanent deal, although the club are prepared to listen to offers of a loan deal for the player. The Brazilian holds a Spanish passport so a work permit wouldn’t be a problem. Gerard Deulofeu is also available which could bring Everton a percentage of any transfer fee.

- Turkish outlet, Fotomac, report Everton Forward Oumar Niasse would prefer a move to Galatasary over Crystal Palace or West Brom. Galatasary are waiting on a response to their enquiry for a loan move ahead of a possible permanent transfer. TEAMtalk website says Newcastle United are interested in bringing the 27 year old to Tyneside.

- The Sunday Express say Everton could still make a move for Atlético Madrid’s 29 year old Argentinian, Nicola Gaitan, but only if their pursuit of Theo Walcott fails.

- According to L’Equippe, Everton are being lined up to sign 20 year old Lille Forward, Martin Terrier, despite the player being on loan at Strasbourg. Apparently Lille have financial problems and a deal could bring in €20m.

Nice one as always Eggs for the round up!

Rafinha on loan - why not, no brainer really with option to buy included, but he's gonna 100% be off to Inter with Gerry Delly no doubt - who alarmingly i'd actually take back here now too we are that devoid of any pace etc...

Antonio - jesus christ no, apparently his injury is a worse one than they are letting on, and even prior to that he is a pure yard dog on a level with everton past ones like Kilbane, Pembridge etc...

Niasse - don't care just get rid of him for as much as we can wherever we can do.

Lennon - same as Niasse, anything we can get for him then take, not good enough, nice lad though so wish him the best.

Terrier - no idea but at least he should have a bit of aggression in his game with that name... Had a look at his vid - looks like a typical french attacking mid really style/technique etc- without looking amazing - which on a comp video isn't the best sign like - young and two footed by the looks as well.

Walcott - lets hope the deal falls through then as the second option is a much better player with a much better attitude than that limp lettuce Walcott

Side note - great to see all the strong links to left back, errrm wait a second......................

Tierney looks excellent, but I think he'd cost considerably more than that sadly.

Anyone who would prefer Antonio shouldn't be allowed to watch football tbh

What's so bad about him?

He's great in the air, quick and strong. Can hold the ball up or get in-behind, playing either out wide or down the middle.

Only thing that's stopped him scoring consistently has been injuries, which of course would be a worry.

They won't sell in this window

He's better than Walcott

Then if that's the case we won't go near him, mate

Why wouldn't we mate, check out BFS and Walsh record at Newcastle, didn't stop them there - they know the player, they know the agent and the agent knows them, a big money transfer would suit all parties.

Neither BFS or Walsh are stupid enough to think they will be here long term mate, they will maximise whats best for themselves personally whilst they can.

Walcot is an underwhelming signing if he comes in. Won’t take us up a level. Another day goes by with no hint of a left back either. Serious questions need to be asked regarding Walsh.
