Giroud has struggled for game time since the arrival of club-record signing and French compatriot Alexandre Lacazette in the summer.
The 31-year-old is yet to start in the Premier League this season and his lack of minutes could see him miss out on a place in France’s World Cup squad.
And Stephan insists Giroud “needs to find a solution” when the transfer window reopens in January if he wants to make the trip to Russia.
"Didier Deschamps has already had the opportunity to talk to him about it,” Stephan said.
“And now Olivier has to find a solution in the weeks to come. A loan deal in January? That's up to him.
“Olivier has been very good for us in the last few months and he has a very high ratio in terms the amount of games played to goals.
“But now he must play more."
Giroud made his debut for France back in 2011 and has gone on to score 29 goal in 69 appearances for Les Bleus.

Giroud has been told by the French national team's management staff that he needs to be playing more if he wants to be considered for the World Cup squad. Assistant manager Guy Stephan is directly quoted as saying that Didier Deschamps has spoken to Giroud about this exact issue.

Paying a transfer fee for Troy Deeney would be stupid to start with. But to do it when we should be taking Giroud on loan.... good Lord.
N'Zonzi would be our best midfielder by a mighty distance.
Curious if anyone knows the rumors linking him with bad attitude in locker room holds any water? If yes, we have enough of that with KM & MS. He looks like a presence in the midfield but we could do with out more attitude

It could well be the reason, that he is not playing for a top 6 team. A rotten attitude is really not, very beneficial in order to gain dynamic on a team. Nice info, i think i would pass on him.He walked out the stadium completely and drove home right after being subbed a while ago, tbh that's my only concern with him. Would start for several top 6 teams.

Im not disputing we need a CB, but we lack a real Striker also, a Striker doesnt just score goals, as ive said countless times :
We lack a focal point, somebody to play off, the modern number 9 who leads the line, knocks it down, holds it up and brings others into play, for all their qualities Rooney, DCL, Niasse, Sandro, none of them can play as a number 9 effectively in the Premier League, Rooney used to be able to and when DCL gains experience he will be able to, Niasse and Sandro IMO are much better playing with a number 9.
Of course thats not our only problem, but somebody for Iceland to hit from out wide, an out ball from our CBs, the long hopeful punt through the middle, basic stuff that we cant do as a team, it drives the whole team unit back 20 yards and constantly puts us on the backfoot.
