What if the alleged hold up is as simple as he can't sign without a number? The only number under 30 available is 13, and superstition likely means that he wont take that. He would most likely want 7, which Del has, so maybe we can't get Deeps over the line until Del is officially gone...

I suppose that's possible with Clev being on a loan with compulsory purchase at season end, so we know he wont be back. Yet, if Deeps has been told he can have 7 once Del is gone, it's an easy bet to say he'd want to wait for that, IMO.

Cleverley and Niasse are gone think we would have cancelled their slots in the FA squad list so no. 15 and 24 should be available now. Even before Schneiderlin took no. 2.
