How many of the current crop would you be even added if they got the strop and how would it be possible to tell when most don't look that bothered anyway

Up to standard:

Lukaku
Williams
Coleman
Gueye
Barkley
Bolasie (being generous)

Finished at end of season:
Barry
Jags
Baines(?)

Potential:
Deulofeu
Davis
Dowell
Galloway

Underperforming:
Mori
Mirallas

Turd:

Everyone else

Three of those added this season so presumably with a revised club wage structure taken into account, bolasie and Williams by what little reports are out there are in the 80-90k range so way more than there cobtempiraies in those positions, Mori, jags, mirallas and deulofeu.

Barkley and lukaku are both in the new contract needed anyway.

Gueye is nailed in to get a new contract at seasons end I'd imagine.

Coleman the exception and only one who you regard as vital we could nark off by bringing on very high earners.

Anyone else getting in a strop over there wage in comparision with others is expendable.

Some people may say this is harsh. I think you've been kind on a few mate.

Coleman and Barkley need lobbing in the 'underperforming' section at best.

I was going on more than recent form in some cases.

The point I'm making is we need at least:

Quality GK
2 centre backs
Reliable left back
Creative midfielder
box to box midfielder
2 strikers.

We can not expect to bring in all those in one window so we need several additions in January.

Everton consider Memphis Depay January loan bid with Manchester United willing to let winger leave
Everton boss Koeman is interested in possibly adding Depay to his wing options

Everton are considering a January loan swoop for out of favour Manchester United winger Memphis Depay.

Ronald Koeman is keen to work with the gifted 22-year-old, who rose to prominence as a teenager in his homeland with PSV Eindhoven.

United are reportedly willing to allow Depay, who has only made six appearances for Jose Mourinho's side this season, to leave when the transfer window opens.

And Koeman will be at Ajax's Amsterdam Arena tonight hoping to watch the winger feature in the Netherlands' friendly clash with neighbours Belgium.

Depay has been accused in some quarters of having an attitude problem, but sources at Old Trafford refute that; insisting he is a consistent and hard-working trainer, and that renowned disciplinarian Louis Van Gaal would never have signed him if he had been concerned with his mentality.

It is thought Koeman believes he could unlock Depay's undoubted potential again via the Dutch approach he is attempting to implement at Goodison.

The sticking point could be whether United want to let Depay join a potential top six rival, with Serie A club Roma also interested in the forward.

Last year while in charge at Southampton, Koeman admitted he tried to sign Depay before he joined United for £25m in June 2015.

He hoped the Dutch connection could convince him to move to St Mary’s, but the deal failed to come off.

Everton investor Moshiri's words were encouraging - now he has to continue delivering with action
“We tried to bring him to Southampton but he wanted to stay for one more year at PSV," he recalled.

“When United went in for him this summer, we knew at Saints that we had no chance. When they come, we have no chance."

Depay scored 50 goals in 124 Eredivisie appearances for Eindhoven.

I'd be happy with this tbh. He looks like a player really low on confidence and probably needs a change of scenery and manager to get him going again. Lad looked like a world beater before he joined United and wasn't really utilised properly under LVG.

He's a proper Koeman-type winger as well, fast, strong and direct. If he can manage to bring the best out of him consistently we could have a hell of a deal here.

Well documented? Hmm?

Deeney at Watford is on 110k a week, Payet at West Ham is on a 125k a week. We now have revenues that are the same or above the revenues that were experienced by the old top four from 10 years ago, who were spending 100k - 140k per week on their top players years ago. The old top 4 have been paying over 100k a week on star players for donks now, and now the midtable clubs like Watford and West Ham are doing so, but we are still waiting. In 2017, you need to be offering around 130k a week for top players.

Can't be arsed looking for the rest but this is from the Telegraph in June this year so not sure where the amount of more than double that is from.

"Deeney is close to agreeing a new £50,000 a week deal, which almost doubles his previous salary, as Watford make a determined attempt to prevent the departure of their talismanic captain."
