..that mid-80 team model isn't a bad template. Goals from everywhere, indeed the season we had an out an out goalscorers (Lineker - who was brilliant) we failed to win a thing. Lukaku is a goalscorer. I'd love us to unearth another forward who gets 20 per season but they aren't easy to find.
Goals from everywhere would be great but we are currently a goals from one place team and I really don't know where our goals would come from if Rom gets injured. Goalscorers aren't easy to find but I'm assuming that's one of the things we pay Steve Walsh and all these new scouts for. Maybe Belfodil will be the answer, I have literally no idea, I hope so.

if lookman develops as expected he will add a lot of goals to the team

Do you work in HR by any random chance?

No, but I do manage staff

While I'm sure we'd all like to see every player in the team to have a couple goals in them, having 'targets' like that is going turn the players into a group of individuals, playing for themselves rather than as a team. That isn't how football works.

Depends how it is explained to them. The manager talking to them about how he believes that they all have some goals in them and those numbers are the ones that he believes they can achieve and encourages them to APPROPRIATELY shoot or attempt to score when they are in a situation they can and as long as they don't neglect their other duties should IMO work.

I'm sure this already goes on informally in some teams - certainly with the strikers and one or two midfielders.

Giving them a number target is a bit lighthearted but handled right it would spread the goal load more across the team.

there is no reason why some of them can't reach the numbers I have listed.

Anyway Ive said enough on this subject..

(If Hibbert had still been playing, his target from me would be a 1...)

An injury to Rom and we are done for. A striker who is content to be understudy and score 10-15 is essential.

Callum Wilson.
