January Transfer Thread 2020

This isn't going to herald an era of galactico signings.

You can argue about what type of player we need in what position, but the reality is that there just has to be more coherency in our transfer strategy.

We cannot afford another repeat of going into a season such as we did this shorn of CB and forward options.

The appointment of Ancelotti for me brings a significant power shift in the Manager-DOF relationship, it's hard to see Brands being on equal terms against the weight of Ancelotti's opinion, particularly in Moshiri's eyes when it comes to financing signings.

The idea that Manager and DOF agree on every signing is a pure myth.

It seems that Brands has been to the forefront this season and last and whilst I was initially enthusiastic, sorry, he looks to have made a pig's ear of things.

Let Brands deal with negotiations if he so wishes, and have overall control over the academy, U-23's and sports science, but let Ancelotti lead the way on identifying who we should sign.

Brands can then go and pursue them.

Right had enuff - Brands lad have a gander at this:

Realistic signings:

ST: Zlatan Free

RW: Zaha £60 million

CM: Sangare £25 million

Tomori Loan

Out

Tosun £10-12 million
Schneiderlin: Loan

Pickford

Sidibe Tomori Mina Digne

Gbamin Sangare
Iwobi

Zaha Ibrahimovic Richarlison

boom boom boom boom I want you in my room

The rumours that happen with us are already over the top and funny now imagine what they'll be like

Linked with every Italian

I heard were going for del pierro

Pickford

Sidibe ??? Mina Digne

??? Gbamin ??? Iwobi

Richarlison ???

Assuming Carlo goes 442 realistically we need to sign 4 players who can push us forward.

Going to cost atleast £100 million so lets hope we can start getting a few bob for the likes of Tosun, Schneiderlin & Keane.

We have to be careful with what we mean by Galitico, I don't think we ae going to be signing the best players from the best teams. However I am hopeful the quality of signing we make goes up.

You look to the summer Koeman came in. The plan was clearly, spend big money and use a well respected manager to help entice names. We went heavily after Koulibaly, Witsel and Mata and completed none (ironically the only good signing of the bunch would probably have been Koulibaly.

We know the money is available to be spent. We know that Moshiri gets along very well with big agents. We now have a manager in place who can entice people. The last 3, with all due respect just wouldn't have done.

I don't think we will be at the very elite table, butI hope we are a strata above now. I think Ancelotti will want more senior players who can fix problems for him immediately.

I wouldn't bother assuming that yet. We need good players wherever we can get them. Midfield highest priority for me. Jumping the gun even assuming Gbamin is quality.
