My estimation well over the top then! Still would like a mid so Gbamin isn’t rushed back. But could understand a loan.

Though I would still prefer a third top midfielder to compliment Gbamin & Gomes.

Who are the first two?

I kid. But we haven't seen nearly enough of Gbamin and Gomes is up and down. We can do a lot better than what's in our club right now.

I still think a top midfielder is the most important, preferably someone who bosses it and forces Gbamin & Gomes to fight for that second place.

I think he'll be reluctant to get anyone on apermanant this January though. Gbamin and Gomes are going to get back in the team eventually.

For me, he has to go all out for a CB and a FW.

But he’s not just going to start next season with the midfield we have now. Schneiderlin & siggurdsson probably going, question mark over Davies imo and Delph is injury prone. So I can see us getting at least one midfielder maybe 2. So why not get one in January if he’s available

For me it has to be a centre midfielder...the midfield looks dreadful.

We have players in MF bought (expensivley) and they'll be turned to next season. We cant be buying to replace injured players.

2 are injured, Carlo wants to play 4, so that leaves us 2 short.

Its not a game of 2 midfielders dave...we need 4 top midfielders in the squad.

If the club are smart enough they'll be thinking of the possability that Gomes may not return the same player (who even then I dont think is on the same level as the likes of Tielemans, Neves) etc.

For me I hope the club sign someone to partner Gbamin til the seasons end with Gomes & Delph as our back ups going into next season.

Send Davies out on loan & sell Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson in the summer.

If he’s not back till December I think a midfielder is our most important position. Davies/Delph could do a job as Gbamin & another mid begin to integrate themselves but next season I’d want Gbamin and a new signing as our first choice with Gomes coming back halfway the season and being slowly allowed back in.

Before the end of the season was the last 'possible' scenario I read.

For sure next pre-season.

Yes, it was City today. But Ancelotti will now know after 3 games, and watching us closely in the run up to our securing him, who he wont want to trust in the team again for the rest of the season.

IMO he's going to know we are short up front as well as being exposed at CB and stretched in MF.

I think he'll leave MF alone though and just bring in a CB and, if available and maybe on loan, an attacker. We our very 'samey' with our options up front.

The advantage of signing a cb means Holgate can play in midfield. I think this may be his best position and comfort my money he may be our best all round midfielder (we obviously haven't seen Gbamin).

That being said, if a loan is available I think we may do it. Rabiot on loan would be incredible alo side Holgate.

Sigurdsson is not really the type of MF we're talking about really.

We have Davies, Delph, Baningime for now, and maybe even Holgate.

Id prioritise on a CB and a striker.
