I wouldn’t take less than 40 for JP, he’s england number 1 and in the best form of his career at a good age for a keeper. 18 months on the contract is not at the panic sale point yet.

Bearing in mind the sale would still allow us to do whatever business we were already planning (Gyokeres / Elanga?) plus spend the extra cash. I think we need one genuine quality attacker who can impact right away and 40m is the going rate. If the only way to get that is to sell JP it has to be considered.

But are we likely to get 40 mil for him? Look at Richarlison. We get taken for a ride with that sale. We should have got more. We also need to look at completion. So that was the best part of forty million on those three when we were crying out for a forward it's negligence of the highest order. If we needed another winger or midfielder we could have gone younger for a cheaper option or used youth as squadies. I think Garner will be a good player but after Onana, Gana et Al we didn't need another one as desperately
