They absolutely do sell clickbait. They have 4000 word articles that tell you absolutely nothing new or interesting on a regular basis
It's hardly 'clickbait' - it's pretty much the opposite.

I mean it all depends on the definition. I don't read it constantly, really only do for the Everton stuff, and Paddy and Greg are good at what they do in that regard.

But they get their subscribers by printing stuff which their subscribers want to read, no?

Which for a lot of football fans (as this thread will attest to) is made up transfer rumours.
But they do not make up transfer rumours.

The top writers there have enough contacts through the industry, with teams, players, agents etc, to not have to do that.

There's an active push towards transfer stuff - it's what sells, you're right of course - but that doesn't mean they 'make it up', and sometimes I think they overexaggerate far too much, so in that sense I agree. Doesn't mean it's made up or not based on the truth.

Agents talk to journalists all of the time. Most of them are good mates. That's what gets them far in their respective roles, usually.

I'm due to cancel soon myself. They practically give it away but far too matey with clubs to be paying and also there's the ads now as well
I do agree in some regard with that, but think the Everton writers are good.

Nobody takes Everton to task enough. Today's presser a perfect example of it, though worth noting The Athletic don't ask questions in the broadcast question.

Paddy said we were looking at Elanga and the Coventry kid but who knows there's probably a list
Yeah I'm sure there is a list.

We looked at the lad at Coventry last summer. Of course we dallied, as we do. Now he'd cost a lot more.

Elanga is definitely an option - not sure he solves any issue like. Another half-decent young player with potential who isn't a great finisher.

That being said, he's got pace and actually does like to shoot.

Issue is we need a game changer from a loan someone like a Sancho or a Ziyech but maybe we aren't even in the position to cover their wages so a younger player who may be open to staying beyon their loan is the other option I suppose... But he doesn't strike me as a massive upgrade on what we have apart from offering a bit more threat and dynamism.

….I don’t get the love for Sancho. I posted at the time United were spending way too much, looked bang average for England and often goes missing in games. With his fragility, I think he’s exactly the type we should avoid.

how is one able to close the gap in relation to the financial inequality in this league when the big clubs are able to spend 100 mil on individual players every window

not all of us are blessed to have Brighton's scouting capabilities of finding the "bargains".

I think he lacks pace.

I know it's a bit controversial in here, but said after the game v United last season I'd rather have Gordon, and I stick by that.
