Yes I know, Burnley's issue was they got sniffy about him not being good enough for them in the PL. They then tried a cringeworthy attempt to unsettle him (Free Nathan Tella!) to get him at knock down fee. Saints said pee off and sold him to Germany for approx twice what Burnley offered.

Burnley's owners are an odd lot, even by the strange standards of British footy.

I’m not saying it isn’t, but that’s better than his championship stats, so I suppose it tells you everything about the league he’s playing in

See where he is at at the end of the season tbh, In that last season in the championship he scored 21 goals and had 10 assists, 17 + 5 the season before. He has already been linked with big money moves back to the PL and to Germany.

I advocated for him for a long time on here that he would have been the perfect signing, quite a few posters said they thought he wasn't good enough (load of nonsense imo) I saw something on a Cov page and someone had been talking to one of his mates and he was desperate to try himself out in Europe. It's a shame as he would have been perfect for the way we seem to be playing at the moment.

Yeh, he did seem highly regarded by some

He May make to jump to a top league and do the business, will be interesting to see how it goes if he does

I mean he still hasnt proven hes good enough, hes 25 years old and still yet to score a single goal in a proper League.

I meant he hasn’t grown up through the Portuguese ranks, in reference to someone saying there’s never been good players in the Portuguese league as a bit of a dig. My point is how many top players move there at 25, even the championship to the Portuguese league is a sideways step, apart from
Europe, which they probably don’t last that long in the competition

At best we may see a loan. I can't see anything beyond that.

I'm well aware we need more cover and improvements but if this is to be a season we stay relatively well clear of relegation (10 points etc I know), I'd have thought it's in our interest to be quiet in January to help the books a bit. Unfortunately that's the mess we're in.

I reckon we'll sell someone we could do without selling in January. I hope not, but given our financial situation, I could deffo see it.
